It's hard for two people to have a relationship without Communication.  

A relationship with God is no different.  Just like we will talk to our spouse or parents or siblings or friends or even our pets, the Creator of the universe wants us to talk to Him.  And he has given us an open line to talk to him about anything and everything, anytime, any place.

The first step is always the hardest.  This is a comment we often hear others say as a motivation to help others succeed.  But then there is the question of what exactly is the first step?

Although others may say it is an action, I believe the first step is a decision.  I believe the first step is making a decision to succeed, no matter what we have to go through to get there.  

So what should one do after the get saved?  What is the first step to take after salvation?  I believe the first step isn't reading the Bible or talking to others, I believe the first step is making a decision to do whatever we need to do to follow God.

Sometimes we get so down that we just want to give up on our dreams and goals in life.  But if we do, what do we have left? 

Today we'll tell two stories about two different people that did just that and how they felt afterwords.

Have you ever been working on a project or overcome an obstacle that just seems impossible.  I think we all have a some point in our lives.

In those cases we are often told to "have confidence in yourself".  People say that as a way of motivating others.  But perhaps what we should be saying is "Have confidence in God".

When God is beside us, we cannot fail.

In today's world many of us are so busy that we rely on our favorite preacher(s) to tell us all we need to know about the Bible.  But what happens when one preacher says one thing and another says something different?  

Is one correct and the other incorrect?  Are they both wrong? Or do we just believe the one that is the most popular?

I believe the answer to this problem is in the Bible, and it's something that we should be doing everyday.

Sometimes we feel like we are doing everything the correct way in order to get a certain blessing or a certain prayer answer.  We know it's in the will of God, we have faith, we don't doubt, and we even asked in the name of Jesus.

But the one thing we often forget... Our time is not necessarily, and often is not, God's time and occasionally, God postpones a blessing until we are more ready and perhaps even more mature for whatever responsibility comes along with the blessing.

With great blessings often comes great responsibility.

In today's world many people want to make so certain topics "Holier than Thou" and next to impossible to reach.  Or they make those topics so difficult to understand, people lose interest quickly.

One of the topics that is so easily misunderstood or made more difficult that it should be is the topic of Rightness.

"What authority do you have over me?"  

This is a common and quite reasonable question to ask when someone is being given an order.

The Bible makes it clear we are given (by God Himself) authority over all aspects of our lives.  The problem is, however, if we do not know we have God given authority or do not know understand how to use it, it is of very little benefit.
