In addition, they discuss how growing up in a southern religious household may have contributed to his life decisions, as well as how his experiences across the country may shine some light on how cultural landscapes effect the way that people practice the same religion.

In this Southern Story, Derek and Aaron talk with Arkansas author and teacher, Sam Brown about growing up, blue color work, and the changing cultural landscape in the south. They also take a look at the south through the work force to see how that helps define it. Finally, Sam briefly discusses how his experiences may be some sort of inspiration for his writing.
