Welcome to Episode 22 of SouthernLive Gumbo. On this episode, I discuss my extended hiatus from recording and how i was not locked up but was away for very good reasons. We discuss the country waiting for stimulation again, the coming cicada swarm and the death of hall of fame boxer, Marvelous Marvin Hagler. 

In our What's Cooking pot on the stove, I discuss the theory of Cognitive Distortions by their definition and how through my own therapy, how I've come to a hard conclusion about what they are and the extended uses of them we all have in our lives. 

In our leadership garden, i discuss the need for affirmation again but in regards to how it allows you to finalize your impact on others. The journey of how you are able to be adored by the people, if you've never heard their words about your importance to them. 

Lastly we pull out the bottle of Pepto Bismol and discuss the oklahoma sports commentator who blamed his use of the N-Word to describe black female basketball players who were kneeling, on his diabetes. We expound on his explanation and look over other diseases that could be racist as well. Ringworms did not make the list.

This week, on Episode 21 of Southern Live Gumbo, we wish everyone a belated Valentines Day, discuss Dennis Quaid showing up at our doors with this ridiculous winter weather, the newly created uses of Gorilla Glue and the ending of the impeachment of the 45th President.

Our topic of the week is the communication gap between men and women today and what are the questions that will shape the future foundations of it. What is the middle ground for the future and if it happens, will both sides be satisfied with it?

Lastly I go into the spiritual garden and discuss the notion of “The Final Representation” of people who are leaving an organization and how that affects the thought process of those coming in. Does it matter how the end looks for those who are just at the beginning?

We delve back into our emotional well being path and discuss the concept of what it means to practice forgiveness. Why is it so hard to forgive and what are the roadblocks or circumstances that prevent us from moving forward to a better sense of self. 

Lastly we discuss the importance of being a good follower when it comes to leadership and how making a guarded effort to follow can only enhance your skillset when it comes to leading others.

When you look at the concept of how people see the world today, it is a fascinating and ever evolving question that changes everyday based on our needs.

We address the hot topic in the pot this week, the events at the U.S. Capitol on 6 January and that sustainment of energy when we respond to these events as a whole.

In the Leadership garden, we speak on the changing face of leadership in the future and how the personal beliefs of leaders, will be more relevant to their subordinates in the future. And finally we speak about the life of a creative and the people who see what you do as easily doable, thus showing a lack of respect for the process you go through.
