James encourages us to pray in both good and bad times, for sickness and sin. James reminds us that we don't have to use special words or have to be super spiritual, just ourselves when we pray.

While patience is the discipline to trust God in the waiting, it is not passive. Godly patience places hope in God, stands firm, doesn't grumble and perseveres even in suffering.

We often think that money is the root of all evil but the Bible does not say that. The Bible does say however that the love of money is the root of evil. James warns us that money is so seductive that we should expect terrible troubles ahead of us if we place out hope in riches. In this message, James tells us to examine our hearts and find where we are falling for the trap of placing our hope in money.

Pride seems to be at the foundation of many other sins... greed, gossip, fighting, even self-loathing. James reminds us that pride is deadly and causes delusions of grandeur, spiritual psychosis. The only remedy is to look up to the truth of who God is for sanity.
