Republican members of Congress have rallied around Trump in the wake of the FBI search.

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) had his cell phone seized by the FBI.

Republicans have thrown around the phrase "banana republic" in response to the FBI enforcing search warrants. Darren said we were a banana republic under Trump.

Nine people, including Michigan Republican Attorney General candidate Matt DePerno and Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf, are facing potential charges for conspiracy and tampering with voting machines. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has asked for a special prosecutor to take over the case due to the upcoming midterm election.

Darren Gibson is celebrating his birthday today, but he left a new episode of Southpaws as a present for the listeners. Topics include:

Federal charges were announced against four current and former Louisville, Kentucky police officers in the 2020 shooting death of Breonna Taylor.

Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN) and two of her aides were killed in a car crash in northern Indiana.

John Gibbs defeated Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI) in the Republican primary for Michigan's 3rd Congressional District. Gibbs was endorsed by Donald Trump.

Both Meijer and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) called out the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for running advertising that endorsed Gibbs over Meijer. Darren agreed with both of the representatives.

Tudor Dixon defeated four other candidates to become the Republican gubernatorial candidate in Michigan. Dixon received an 11th hour endorsement from Donald Trump after Betsy DeVos sent a letter to him requesting one.

Dixon is dangerous for women in Michigan if she's elected. She would ban abortion with no exceptions for rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Ryan Kelley refused to concede the election, saying that the fix was in from the beginning for the "establishment candidate" (presumably Dixon).

Darren read other results from Michigan's primary election.

Kansas voters overwhelmingly rejected a ballot proposal to further restrict abortions. Could the overturning of Roe v Wade be a huge miscalculation for the Republicans?

An Oakland County judge has issued an injunction to stop enforcement of Michigan's 1931 ban on abortions after the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled that local prosecutors could enforce the ban.

The attorney for plaintiffs in the Alex Jones defamation lawsuit told the court that Jones's attorney accidentally sent him two years worth of his client's text messages. Now the January 6 House Committee wants those texts.

Jones was ordered to pay $4.1 million in damages. He may have to pay more in punitive damages. And he may also face a criminal trial for perjury.

Hammer Time: Political consultants David Doyle and Ed Kettle formed a group to oppose efforts to eliminate part of the Grand Rapids city charter that requires 32% of the city's budget be allocated to the police. What local media didn't tell you is that both men supported the original effort to add that to the city charter. Did we mention that Ed Kettle's wife is the current director of Silent Observer and works closely with the police?

Off The Cuff: A Utah man trying to kill a spider with a lighter started a wildfire that destroyed 60 acres.

Pope Francis traveled to Canada to apologize to indigenous people for atrocities committed against them at residential schools operated by the Roman Catholic Church.

The entire Kenly, North Carolina police force resigned after the city hired a Black city manager.

The January 6 Committee said they may subpoena Ginny Thomas (wife of U.S. Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas) regarding her role in the traitorous insurrection.

A jury found Steve Bannon guilty on contempt of Congress charges.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) signed a law that bans anyone from getting within 8 feet of police officers to video record them.

And the Internal Revenue Service has asked the Treasury Department Inspector General to investigate how former FBI Director James Comey and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe were both audited while Trump was in office.

    President Biden has contracted Covid-19.

With a new variant surging, Darren recommends getting vaccinated, masking up, and washing hands frequently.

The January 6 Committee gave a minute-by-minute breakdown of what Donald Trump was doing during the 187 minutes between his stoking of the riot and when he told rioters to leave the Capitol. The committee also announced that it will reconvene in September.

The Republican speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly told reporters Tuesday that Donald Trump called him last week asking him to overturn the results of the 2020 election after the Wisconsin Supreme Court banned the use of most ballot drop boxes.

New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin was attacked at a campaign event Thursday.

A Michigan Court of Claims judge ruled that a lame-duck maneuver used by state Republican legislators to weaken a 2018 ballot initiative to raise the minimum wage was unconstitutional. The ruling will not take effect yet while the case is being appealed.

Several Democratic members of Congress were arrested while protesting at the U.S. Supreme Court over its decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

And the Michigan House passed a bill allowing fetuses to be claimed as dependents on state income tax forms.

Hammer Time: A former Trump White House official used misogynistic language to describe female former members of Trump's team who testified in front of the January 6 Committee.

Hammer Time: Barry County, Michigan Sheriff Dar Leaf continues to waste taxpayer money to "investigate voter fraud" even though the prosecutor said it doesn't exist.

In this special episode, Darren is joined by Juliea and Kashmir (who go by Jewels and Kash) to discuss these topics:

The January 6 Committee continues to get to the truth about what happened in the lead up to the Capitol riots.

Trump's outside advisors wanted him to issue an executive order calling for the National Guard to seize voting machines across the country.

Trump's outside advisors argued and exchanged insults with White House lawyers.

Participants in the traitorous storming of the Capitol testified under oath that they went there because Trump told them to.

Committee Vice-Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) warned Trump about witness tampering after she accused him of calling a witness who hasn't testified yet.

A Minnesota judge has struck down that state’s restrictions on abortion.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) issued an executive order to keep the state from extraditing doctors who perform abortions and women who come to Michigan to seek an abortion.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) wants the Senate to impeach Supreme Court justices who lied under oath during their confirmation hearings.

A Plano, Texas woman cited the repeal of Roe v Wade as she claimed her fetus was a passenger after police pulled her over for driving by herself in the car pool lane.

A federal judge in Arizona has blocked a law which defines personhood as occurring at fertilization, calling the law "unconstitutionally vague."

And the chair of the Oklahoma College Republicans was arrested and charged with lewd acts to a minor.

Hammer Time: Facebook banned Darren for three days after he called for Trump to be prosecuted for treason and receive a certain type of punishment if convicted.

Off The Cuff: A New Jersey couple dug up $1,000 in money dated 1934 from under their porch while remodeling.

This is a special episode of Southpaws recorded live to tape in front of an audience at the 10th Anniversary Listener Appreciation Party. Darren Gibson and Jack Prince were joined by Katy J., who is making her first appearance on the show since July 2017. These topics were discussed:

Darren and Jack give a brief history of the show.

A Michigan Court of Claims judge issued an injunction against the State Attorney General’s office from enforcing the 1931 state ban on abortion if Roe v Wade is overturned.

Katy went through a long list of possible scenarios that conservatives probably haven’t thought about when it comes to overturning Roe.

What else could the U.S. Supreme Court repeal after Roe?

Jack stated that the same Republicans who want to control women also want to control the voting process and make it harder for Black and Brown people to vote.

One of our attendees went through his experience working at a Catholic hospital during the 1980s and how they provided abortions.

Darren said that if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe, it could take 50-100 years for a future Supreme Court to fix it. What will women who want an abortion do in the meantime?

Katy reminded us that protesting is a privilege because some people who want to protest can’t for economic and health reasons.

And Darren reiterated that selfishness will ruin this country.

Hammer Time: Ted Nugent called for conservatives to go “berserk on the skulls of the Democrats, the Marxists, and the Communists” at a recent Trump rally in Austin, Texas.
