There is a difference between merely looking at or even observing fully and really stooping/bending down get a closer look and really seeing something (these distinctions are taken from Greek words translated by the NASB as "looks" {katanoeo} in Jas.1:23-24 and "looks intently" {parakupto} in Jas.1:25). Thus one can mere "see" (observe or notice) or "really see" (to discern fully). In this lesson we endeavor to "really see" what Jesus "saw"... that is, those of whom He took particular notice that we may do likewise.

If you tell me there are "problems in the church," then I can tell you the cause and how to correct them. Am I brilliant, insightful, or wise? Hardly! This latter problem, of not saying what we mean, is usually the result of ignorance or lack of careful attention to our words, cf. Matt.12:36; Jas.3:2. However, this tendency is not limited to our mundane and inconsequential speech; it also creeps over into how we try to express ourselves spiritually... like when someone mentions "losing faith." This lesson explores, in blatantly candid fashion, what that phrase most often really means.

Question: Do you really believe what Jesus said in Matt:11:28-30? Do you believe the "yoke" of Christianity is “easy” and the "load" is “light”? Jesus said it was- do you believe Him? Does being a Christian make you weary instead of providing "rest"? Does it feel like a hard "yoke" and a heavy "load" to you? If it seems more hard, heavy, and wearisome than easy, light, and restful, then one of two things is true...
