Why does God heal some people and not others?
Maybe you prayed for healing and it came. Or maybe you prayed, believed, asked others to pray—and nothing changed. When you've heard stories of miraculous healing while watching someone you love suffer, it's hard not to wonder: Why them and not me? Does prayer actually work? Did I not have enough faith? Is God angry with me?
In this message, Pastor Scott tackles one of the hardest questions submitted for our Hot Ones series: If God heals, why doesn’t He heal everyone?
There may not be an explanation that makes suffering hurt less. But Scripture gives us a hope that reaches beyond whether healing happens in this life.
We’ll look at where sickness and suffering came from, why Jesus healed people, what His miracles were pointing toward, and why the Christian’s ultimate hope isn’t healing—it’s resurrection.
We can still pray boldly for God to heal. We can still believe He performs miracles. But even when the healing we desperately want doesn’t come, we have a greater promise: Jesus is making all things new, and one day sickness, suffering, sin, and death will be gone forever.
Until then, we groan—but we do not groan without hope.
