What if God never performed another miracle for you—would He still be worth following?

In this message, Micah challenges us to look beyond what God can do and discover who God is. In this message from our series The Blessed Life, we look at the story of David in 1 Samuel 30. David returns to Ziklag only to find that everything he had built has been burned and his family has been taken captive. By every outward appearance, it looks like everything is lost.

But the fire wasn't the end of David's story.

David had been running, avoiding, and holding onto things that God never called him to hold onto. Yet when everything around him fell apart, David did something different: he strengthened himself in the Lord and sought God.

This message challenges us to consider what we're holding onto, where we're finding our strength, and whether we're willing to surrender the things that may be keeping us from what God has next.

The fire didn't destroy David's destiny. It destroyed what was distracting him from it.
