We as Gentiles were alienated from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel and without hope and without God

Israel was God's chosen people and the nation of the promised Messiah. They had a covenant

relationship through Abraham and a sign of the covenant was circumcision.

We are saved by God's grace and it is nothing that we have done nor by any works we have done
