Sometimes God will speak to us and say things we don't want to hear. This should be something we all experience because Gods purpose as our Lord must take preference over our plans. What you do when He speaks reveals what you believe about God.

As we enter 2021 we are all seeking wisdom. Gods word tells us we can ask him for wisdom. The question is, are we listening. When Samuel listened to God in the Old Testament it led him into his destiny, but learning to listen was not easy. It required an awareness of Gods voice in the midst of the mundane rhythms of his everyday life.

Often we can fall more in love with what God does rather than who he is. We can become so captivated by the miracles that we overlook the miracle maker. Its easy to tell Jesus you love what he does when all he wants to hear is "I love you". When it starts with our love for Him, he works all the other things for our good.

Our worth is not created by what we do, its discovered because of what Jesus has done. This means that when we only see the mud of our mistakes and mess ups, God sees a masterpiece. Don't despise what Jesus died for. You are worthy.

In a time where we are living with so much, uncertainty and limited information it is our opportunity to live from revelation. Revelation allows us to operate in the natural while accessing the supernatural.

2020 has been a year of fear, brokenness and darkness for many of us, but, like the life of Jacob in the bible God can bless us in our brokenness and deliver us in the midst of the darkness. As we come to the end of the year we all have the burden of some sort of limp in our step, but it may not be a symbol of being beaten but blessed.

In this season of lockdown we often feel we lack faith but both coexist. Our feelings reveal where we are but our faith tells us where God is taking us. In the midst of our fear in this uncertain season, our faith can see what we believe.

The pandemic the world is experiencing has revealed that we aren't in control. This leaves us asking ourselves who is. God is in control, so our response is not to strive toward success but surrender to Gods sovereignty. We can fall into the arms of God.

God wants us to be still but its not easy because silence is the cross upon which we crucify the ego. If we choose to seek solitude and pray like Jesus we understand that prayer is not so much about talking but giving and that its not about performance, but presence.
