God wants to bless us out of this season of burden so the enemy seeks to steal the blessing by dividing our unity. We need to partner, prioritize and protect our relationships because where there is unity God commands a blessing.

Whenever the enemy wants to stifle the building of your hands he goes for your heart. This is why scripture tells us to guard our hearts ensuring we don't leave gaps open for the enemy to access. In this season of lockdown one of the greatest enemies to our heart is anger which can turn into bitterness if its not addressed and bitterness has a root that damages the potential in our hands and the hearts of others.

If we are going to lead our lives through lockdowns losses it will requires consistency in our discernment, faith and obedience. When the enemy is persistent we need to remain consistent.

When we choose to lead our lives in lockdown instead of languishing in our loss it means we are rebuilding from ruins like the leader Nehemiah did in Old Testament history. What he experienced as he started building was the threat of battle from the enemy. This applies to each of us. Where you choose to build there will always be a battle. What we need to guard ourselves against is getting so distracted by battle that we neglect the building.

As we engage in war with the unseen Covid-19 virus we also have another unseen enemy in the spiritual. This enemy seeks to isolate us from others in order to weaken our support and deplete us of strength. This means we need to stay alert and protect our relationships with others by founding them on commitment and not just agreement.

We cant heal what we don't hear. Its time to put aside our opinions and hear the hurt carried by so many because of racism. Privilege has protected some from feeling what others have endured but the bible calls us to mourn with those who mourn in the process of living in harmony. This is the beginning.

Gratitude allows us to see what God is giving us in seasons where we are tempted to focus on what we haven't been given. As God gives us what we need we are able to survive the present as we move toward the promise.
