05/19/19 - Joe Kimmell - Matthew 7:13-20

​ The gateway to life is narrow and the road is difficult. These words are not ones which inspire and encourage us generally, unless you have been on it and feel the struggle of it. But many of us are turned off thinking that this is saying something that it may not actually be saying. Instead of listening to fear and shame consider joining us and exploring the difficult road, the tree and its fruit, and the antidote of God.

​Last week we looked at several toxic ways we relate to others. This week we look at how we get God’s help to be pulled through fear and pain into seeking and listening and trusting that makes relationships work powerfully. It may sound simplistic, but don’t knock it ’till you try it.

This week we dive into one of the most commonly used sayings of Jesus by Christians and non-Christians alike. Do not Judge. In this passage Jesus brings us into an understanding of how we are and are not to relate to others. Once again Jesus cannot be boxed into a camp or certain agenda but sets forth the path of the Kingdom for us to follow. Join us this week as we look at Jesus’ Way of Relationship.

​Today is a Family Sunday at SouthSide - our first ever! So we gathered with the kids and everyone together and talked about how Jesus teaches us to pray.
