The church has made relationships, sex, and singleness weird in the past. Breanna, Emma, Leah, Tori, and Maddie discuss how to change the “weirdness” around these topics, and ways that you can navigate these  unique stages in life.

Sex and relationships can be controversial topics. Everyone has an opinion. It seems sometimes that everyone has an opinion, except the church. Southside Church has never tried to hide from these difficult conversations. This episode dives into these topics, as Lucas and Josh are open and vulnerable about some of their past struggles. They discuss pornography, and what is really going within this multi-billion dollar industry, how to put God first in our relationships, how to move forward after making a mistake, and the problem with how our culture approaches relationships and sex. God created you ON purpose, and FOR a purpose. That trade, craft, sport, subject, goal that you’re passionate about? Lean into it. God designed you that way for a reason. But while you’re pursuing your goals, remember that it was God who instilled these passions in you. So honour Him by attacking life with a full effort, but always remember that your commitment to HIM is the first and most important pursuit of your life. Become the person He created you to be; commit to His plan for your life.

Our world is more divided and isolated than ever. I think most of us realize this. But how do we actually fix this? What’s the solution? On this episode of “2021 Uncut,” we talk about how empathy is an underused tool for bringing people together. An empathetic person creates unity, builds bridges, offers second chances, and creates positive and encouraging environments. Joined by two incredibly empathetic Southside Leaders, Lucas works towards a better understanding of empathy. And like always, we finish our discussion with practical tips for us ALL to become more empathetic and compassionate.

Has anyone ever -- through their words or actions -- made you feel like you don’t have a place in this world, or that maybe the mistakes you’ve made disqualify you from becoming the person you were born to be? Lucas, Josh, and Henry speak to this from experience, and discuss times where they’ve felt like this.
