What does it mean to trust in God, and not in yourself? What are the dangers of leaning on my understanding and will instead on the good and perfect will and understanding of God? Ken walks us through the wisdom of leaning on and trusting God with all of our hearts, and how doing this will make our paths straight.

Ken teaches us the purpose behind fatherly wisdom to his children and the plan God has behind it. He then leads us into an understanding of the frailty of our flesh in trying to maintain holiness and wisdom as displayed in King Solomon’s inability to maintain the wisdom he had gathered in Proverbs. Therefore, just as Solomon needed a greater author beyond himself, so we need a greater father and a greater son.

After two separate talks on the Warrior and the Beauty, Jake and Brock join together to talk about what it looks like for the the Warrior to be FOR the beauty. Jake and Brock approach this topic from what the Scripture says and doesn’t say about relationships and how should high school guys and girls should relate to each other.

Am I beautiful? Will you pursue me? Am I worth it? Our culture has ruined the wonderful image that women are suppose to bear. Brock, in the famous Beauty Talk, walks our female students through the truth of who God created them to be.

Can you be both a true Christian and a “man’s man?” What has our culture told us it means to be a Christian man? How does Scripture describe the man of God? Jake walks us through the truth of Biblical manhood and the heart behind a Christian man.

The reality of the significance of the coming of our Savior is often neglected in our celebration of Christmas. What was being communicated to the people of that time when they heard that the Messiah had come? What are we missing out on? Jake walks us through the beauty of God declaring peace between He and man as He sent His Son to be one of us.

Solomon, a King of whom God said there would be no king in comparison, failed at the one fundamental aspect of the very thing he requested of God: wisdom. Without the fear of the Lord (without desiring God himself) Solomon’s wisdom failed him. Ken takes us through the story of King Solomon’s life in order to get a better context on the entire book of Proverbs.

We were created to be in relationship with God and his created order. The question Ken presents is do we fear God, or do we fear man? The answer to this question is the path to life and wisdom.

Ken continues his series on Proverbs with a discussion on the key theme to the entire book which is “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” He teaches us how the Law and the Awe of God are the major components of fearing the Lord in order to be wise.
