In this text, we will see the last segment of this mock trial. And, we will follow Jesus along the road to the cross. If nothing else, this text ought to cause us to praise God for all He endured for us to save us from our sins.

Though this church was not perfect, it does seem to have been ideal. The church in Philadelphia is a model church for us to follow. As a result, there is great doctrinal benefit in this letter-including some prophetic implications for the future of the letter.

In our country, we hear a lot about the separation of church and state. Here, we see religion and politics unite. In this text, we are going to see Jesus before Pilate, then Herod, and then Pilate again. And though neither of them finds anything to convict Jesus for-especially not a capital crime-but the Jews will not let up. At the end of the day, Jesus will be tossed aside as a political scapegoat. And yet, He is the King of Heaven.

In this message, we are encouraged to enjoy life and glorify God with our lives while resting in His sovereignty.
