Those few who are friends to your soul, are your best friends -as The Apostle Paul demonstrates in today's passage in 2 Corinthians 7-, and the many, who try to take you away from the matters of your soul are in fact your worst enemy-----Like Paul, we as believers need to understand that it is not -loving- to not confront sin, either within ourselves or within others -as the Apostle shows with affection - care-.----God's Word describes two types of sorrow - found in vs 10 - 11-- sorrow of the world and Godly sorrow.----Worldly sorrow is concerned with how sin affects one's life and earthly losses -- concerns-. Psalm 5 - David's solemn prayer to The Lord clearly reveals the characteristics of a saved soul. --We see the power of a believers prevailing prayer of faith, which is full of hope and expectation. His dependent cries appeal to God and not to men. --We see the characteristics of a saved soul in how David addresses God in reverence, how his daily routine is governed by The Lord, in dependence upon Christ, in the hatred of sin - the need of grace. Sermon text - Proverbs 3-5-6.----The Bible is clear that in life we will be directed by someone or something. Our Creator is a personal God who has given us directions to get right with Him.----The commandments - law are our school master to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith -Galations 3-24-.----It is only when we look beyond ourselves and beyond our own faulty understanding to God's divine directions that we can know the truth.
