  • Believing for More Church Planters
it’s good to be with you and uh if you haven’t met me, I’m derek rim, p one of the things that we’ve been believing for is for the gospel to continue to go out and to send out church planters and and God has been leading me in that direction and uh we’re gonna be, I’m gonna share a little bit about my heart and what, what guys doing um in in a second charlie is gonna be coming up here and talking about going, being about jesus’s mission uh and I’m excited to be a part of that and for you guys to uh to be a part of that as well and and that’s one of the things I wanted to say is just thank you, thank you too to this, this body, this people that has been a blessing to myself to uh bringing in our church Restoration City, my family, it’s been a huge blessing being a part of this community, serving with you all, getting to know you all and, and I’m sad too to be moving on, but you know, excited to be going and what God is calling us to. So one of the things I want to share uh is Matthew 13 44 so God is calling us to go to highland Kansas. Uh it’s kinda in between here and Kansas city, it’s a town of 1000 people. Uh we’re going to plant a church there and and see what God is gonna do, making disciples, we’re going to talk about, but Matthew 13 44 says this says the kingdom of Heaven, it’s like treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and covered up and then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Now that verse that reality, that idea here is what God really did in my life. When I was 19 there was a church and Lawrence Kansas uh college ministry as a part of that church dan was a part of that dan. And Lori was one of the first people I met when I was a student there got connected and they were there seeking to share the gospel of the Kingdom of God, sharing christ this treasure with others. And I was uh I’m grateful to be a recipient of that. Uh God showed me and I was able to find the treasure of christ and his kingdom and I went in my joy and sold everything and they’ve been serving him growing in him and he led me to come to Lincoln to help plan a church and now going to highland to do the same thing to help people find the treasure of christ and his kingdom. And and there’s nothing better, nothing more worth doing giving their lives to helping people find christ and to find his kingdom. So that’s really the heart of what we’re doing. That’s the heart of, of what God has called us to and with that I want to invite charlie Robinson to come up and and share with us. So my name is charlie and I’ve been in sabbath to Kansas for a little bit more than 28 years. Um I am old, right. The gray hair reflects, its just had my seventh grandchild. Little girl named Norah. Right. And so uh yeah, she’s a little cutie. And uh and so we’re gonna be talking about the mission um sabbath and Kansas is a small town, not quite as small as highland where Derek’s going and you know, people might look at at Northridge Church and and this is actually our sixth campus uh church that that we’re gonna have um so we’ve planted five times or this is the fifth time, technically it sounds romantic, but it’s not, you’re going to need to pray for Derek because You know, there’s no starbucks within 45 minutes, there just isn’t right. There’s not even a coffee shop in, in, in in highland. Right, So he’s got to go all the way to Hiawatha to get a cure ick thing or whatever, you know at Casey’s. And so uh it’s gonna be hard, uh there’s there’s there’s no grocery store there, You know, they’re gonna have to travel 20 miles to the nearest grocery store. It’s it’s not gonna be glamorous for him. And there’s there’s, it’s, it’s just a broken down little town. And yet there are many people, there’s not really a good solid bible, believing mis…

  • Believing for More Open Doors
Amen. Amen, Good morning. No, no, no. Great morning. Great morning. This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be good job church, good job church. What a great decision you did to start or end your week with gathering of God’s people to, to sing, to pray to fellowship, to eat a donut, eat some, drink some coffee, say hi to your old friends and listen to the message of God preach so great choice, christian not neglecting meeting together has something in the habit of doing way to do that. We are in a we’re in a four week series. We’d like to pause the normal exposition of preaching through the bible and we’re doing a more focused timely effort to look at four weeks of believing God for more week one is believing God for more laborers. Week two is believing God for more bold gospel witness. Today we’re looking at believing for more open doors. Next week we’re looking at believing God for more church planners is an exciting week. Next week it’s a celebratory sunday, you’re gonna get a name tag and you’re gonna come in and we’re gonna celebrate hard next week we’re gonna have derek up here twice both services, we’re gonna give them a gift, we’re gonna send them out in style as a church. So come with the bells on ready to go, no don’t worry bells. You know, we won’t let you in the room if you have bell but come ready to go get your, do get your coffee to start the day and come next week to a monumental day for us? Most churches? They don’t start church the first three years I’ve heard won’t plan a church and that’s not our experience. This is our first church plant as a church. We want to celebrate that. Well, Derek’s send off sunday. So thank you for coming. I’m excited for being here with you. Looking at this passage today. We want to we want to not ignore the practical sides of Christianity with the spiritual, to neglect the practical with emphasis over emphasizing the spiritual would not be right. Uh We’re not a business as a church. We are called to be stewards And some examples of stewardship, I would like to remind you of those of you who are new to the bible. It is in the bible being a good steward is in the bible. We were we see in the very beginning of the bible adam and Eve adam is called to, to attend to steward the garden and care for it. We as a church are told in the bible to consider the cost before you build to plan ahead. When you’re going to war, get wise counsel. There’s, there’s this, there’s this stewardship principle. You see throughout the bible that we’d like to steward our practical side of our Christianity. Um wouldn’t be wise for us as a church to steward, our staff, well care for them, well trained them, well equipped them well, you know, help them grow in their walk with God. Wouldn’t it be wise for us as a church to connect new people. Well, help them make the next step of faith. They need to make, help them get connected to christ and connected to community and really get them plugged in. Well, wouldn’t it be wise church if we help Stewart are current members? Well, 127 members, we have well equipping them in. What only they can do? Smokey the bear. Only you can prevent forest fire and only you can hand out a donut now. Right, No, we want to equip our members and their gifting. They’re calling and how God has equipped them to grow into maturity and utilize that gifting to build up the church and bring us into maturity. And so we want to equip and Stuart are members. Well, we want to steward our property. Well, we own a property, a shared property, this is it. Well in this house, this church house. And so we want to steward that church. Well, we’re gonna steward our finance as well. No scandals and our finances are gonna steward that well. And we want to steward our reputation well, as a chu…

  • Believing For More Laborers
Amen. Thank you for that. That’s great. That was a wonderful who made that Chloe. Well done Chloe. Thank you Chloe. Amen. Welcome. Thank you for coming this morning. It’s my name is Michael on the five pastors here and so are churches. The honor to be a few today. It’s encouraging to have a beautiful sunday morning to be a few and talk with you, pray with you, fellowship with you, drink some coffee with you have a donut with you, sing with you, pray with you. It’s just fun to be with you as a church. I’m excited for this topic. I went long at the first service and I don’t have a second service coming so I will try to stay in my range of where I’m supposed to be at but I’m excited to look at God’s word together for this passage we’re looking at today. So before we jump into that, can you take a few moments and bow your heads and pray with me. Christians all over the globe are praying for the war in Ukraine. I like to just open our time for a moment of prayer on that. Bow your heads and pray with me Lord, I Lord, it’s war. There’s been conflict there in that part of the country for eight years. There’s an estimated four million people that are displaced Lord. There’s churches and seminaries and gospel believing brothers and sisters are trying to be assault and a light in a very difficult time at the end of a pandemic at the end of a global recession. Global pandemic. Then there’s a war in their backyard. Lord, there’s people displaced homes being destroyed, lives being lost. It is wild Lord, what is happening? Or I ask that you would make a way for the gospel. Make a way for lives to be changed. Make a way for the church to expand in the Ukraine, Ukraine and Russian territories. Lord, all all jurisdictions, all governors, all dictators, all rulers will bow in me to you someday I pray you would compel hearts change hearts capture hearts and and just control that scene in our, in our world. Lord, crisis and conflict is are all around the globe. Lord and we can watch this one in living color Lord as people because of technology. We feel this more than everything else that happens around the globe because we see it. Lord, we see stories of lives that are being transformed and destroyed by war. Help us not to waste our time. The time is dark. The time is for christians to act is now the days are getting short. The time is evil is what the bible talks about. Help us not to waste our days, Help us through. Our days are numbered and counted. Help us to manage our time while our fleeting time help us make this time count word, I pray for my brother Jason’s prayer request that you would you protect and lead him in that Lord protecting lead us all Lord as we as we attempt to be faithful. In uh in lean times, how to be faithful christians now we commit this time to you in jesus name. Amen. I’d like to open up a short story, March 17 of a year ago. I had, I was at a pastoral church planning residency builder with Dan and Derek and others. There’s probably two dozen pastors and staff from healthy gospel centered churches in the Lincoln Omaha area that came together for a day long training. I heard saw and experienced things at that conference that have, that have changed my perspective as a pastor this last year and I’ve walked in this sermon in these passages for a year and I’ve rehearsed this sermon unintentionally dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of time over coffee at dinner tables, over lunch is over people’s lunch hours. I feel like I’ve said this version of what I’m covering today several dozen times. I feel like this has been in my system for a year and I’m excited to be able to share these passages and these principles and these passages and I’m not sure that plagiarizing from the pastor of the conference that I was at, he’s my f…

  • A Rending Fire
well, good morning, my name is Ben Lander and I am one of the pastors here and glad to be um With you this morning in Luke, chapter 12 verses 49 through 59? No, the other side. Okay, there we go. Um, so I wanted to um, before we get into the passage, it’s, I think it’s important to mention uh, that we as a church should be praying for Ukraine and uh, and I will be praying here shortly, but we, we really want to pray for our brothers and sisters in christ in Ukraine. They’re undergoing extremely difficult choices right now. They’re fighting for their country and um, and there’s just a lot of uh, difficulty as Russia has invaded their um, there’s quite a few christians there in Ukraine. Quite a few of our baptist brothers and sisters who are being lights and standing for the Gospel in their country. It’s challenging to see, but it’s encouraging to see there are many believers there who faced the reality that their freedom to worship will probably be severely restricted or diminished. Uh, if Russia is able to take over the country. And so we want to pray and they have a choice to follow christ and be faithful to him or to lose everything, possibly even their lives. And they are standing firm in the Gospel. It’s encouraging to see here’s a quote from the president of the Ukrainian baptist Theological Seminary is very encouraged by this. This was from two days ago and he said this, he said in response to, you know, what are you, what are you gonna do if Russia takes over? And he said this, He said, oh the church will go undergrounds. Um we had that under the soviet union. The church has not forgotten what it means to be persecuted. So we will rearrange, we will reorganize and we will do what we always do, preach the Gospel and that was so encouraging. So they are standing firm there in the Gospel. It’s a sobering reminder to us that eternity is what matters are passage today also is a sobering reminder for that from jesus. It’s eternity that matters and what it means to follow him. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to read our passage Luke. Chapter 12 verses 49 through 59. And then I’m going to pray and commit our time with Lord and also pray for Ukraine. So join with me in Reading Luke chapter 1249 through 59 I came to bring fire on the earth and how I wish you were already set ablaze but I have a baptism and to undergo and how it consumes me until it is finished. Do you think that I came here to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division from now on five in one household will be divided three against 22 against three. They’ll be divided. Father against son, son against father, mother against daughter and daughter Against mother. Mother in law against her daughter in law and daughter in law against Mother in law. He also said to the crowds when you see a cloud rising in the west, right away, you say a storm is coming and so it does. And when the south wind is blowing you say it’s going to be hot and it is hypocrites, you know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. But why don’t you know how to interpret this present time? Why don’t you judge for yourselves? What is right as you’re going with your adversary? The ruler make an effort to settle with him on the way. Then he won’t drag you before the judge and the judge to hand you over to the bailiff and the bailiff to throw you into prison. I tell you you will never get out there until you have paid the last penny, pray with me. Lord God, we do come before you. God above all Gods, King above all kings. Not only do we pray for you to speak to us during this time, but we also pray for our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. We pray for the country of Ukraine. Lord God deliver Ukraine from evil. Draw many to yourself that the people there would hope in God…

  • Always Ready
so good to be with you guys this morning. My name is Professor Dan, or Dan coke. If you’re new to soar welcome, Glad you’re here. Um we’re going to continue walking through the gospel according to luke, We’re going to be in chapter 12 this morning And we’re going to read versus 35 through 48. So if you don’t mind going to go ahead and turn their um, and while you’re turning their, let me set the stage by way of comparison, I guess. Um in 1996, deliberate pause there for the young people over here because, you know, they weren’t born at that time, But in 1996, the hip hop group, the fuji’s released a track entitled Ready or not. Somebody is a fuji fan. That’s good. I didn’t, I didn’t miss You, I got you, I’m with you. But they released a track that year that was entitled Ready or Not, and it um, Lauryn Hill sang the hook and I’m Not Lauryn Hill and Lauryn Hill can sing, I mean that girl can sing, right? And she may have had a conversion to christ to at some point, um, afterwards. But anyway, the hook goes like this, Ready or Not, Here I Come, You can’t hide. I’m going to find You and make you Love me Now. This was a hip hop group that wrote this track, right? And so the premise behind it was that they were bursting onto the scenes as a new group and they were going to take over the music industry and in the process, they were going to expose all of the artists who were capitalizing on rapping about violence and perversion and that they would become the darlings, the new darlings of the hip hop industry. So they were speaking to two groups, the artists and the fans and they said, Ready or not. Here I come. I’m gonna find you. You can’t hide, I’m gonna find you and I’m gonna make you love me. No. Did the fuji’s make good on their promise? No, they didn’t because some of you guys don’t even know who they are, right. But today’s passage, jesus talks about coming And no one will be able to hide and he will come and he will make good on his promises. And so we’re going to read about that in the passage. And I’ve entitled this passage always or this teaching always ready because he is going to come and he will make good on his promises. Unlike the fuji’s. So without further ado, let’s read the passage Beginning in Verse 35. So stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when it comes truly. I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table and he will come and serve them if he comes in the second watch or in the third and finds them awake. Blessed are those servants, but know this that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming he would not have left his house to be broken into. You also must be ready, for the son of man is coming at an hour. You do not expect Peter said Lord, Are you telling this parable for us or for all? And the Lord said, Who, then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household to give them their portion of food at the proper time. Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that servant says to himself, my master is delayed in coming, and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him, and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and put him with the unfaithful and that servant to who knew his master’s will, but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. But th…

Good morning. Thank you for coming physically or digitally. It is if your digital, it’s brutal cold out today. It is, it is painfully cold. Oh my goodness, I don’t believe this weather, this is great. Um glad you’re here. Super Bowl sunday. So we’re Super Bowl. Super sunday and it’s good to be if you all this is the one sunday here. I got to limit myself to a few football jokes and references as we go through this. So I’m pumped up to spend time with you as God’s gathered people looking at the word of God. That is key to our existence and us being a church. That is a key part of any new testament. Churches gathered people of God studying the bible together. So will you bow your heads with me and let’s pray and then I’ll jump into my intro. Lord, I thank you for this is a big deal. Lord looking at the bible. This is a solemn thing God and I’m I’m a human, I’m a man and I will mess this up If you don’t show up Lord, I pray that you would warm our hearts Lord, You’d warm us to the truth of your word. I pray you find our hearts to be fertile ground that the the word of God can be planted in and produce 30 60 a hundredfold in our lives. Lord, We pray that you just make this time meaningful. We’re gonna cover some heavy topics today. God, we need you to make this a meaningful time. We commit ourselves to in our lives to ask that you would use the word of God to make us into the people of God who prays in jesus’s name. Amen. Speaking of Super Bowl. Sunday bunch of grown men chasing rings. I have uh one sunday a year. I gotta bust out my collegiate wrestling rings. I just we’re all about these rigs. I have a third one. My dad has it. I gave it to my dad and he won’t give it back. Mom said so I’m waiting I’m waiting but this will distract me wearing these. But you’re like wait a second mike. I thought you were terrible at wrestling in college. I was but you know I wasn’t terrible at I wasn’t terrible at taking those drug tests. Every every quarter are every quarter our conference had drug tests in like every six months. The N. C. Double A. Had random drug tests and and our team had random drug tests and I had so many random drug tests it was not. So if you need help you need to know how to pass the drug test. I am really good at that. All the other stuff. We got to talk to talk to the real athletes on our team who didn’t blow out their knee a bunch of times. So um Welcome thank you for coming. Like that was random. It kind of was uh you know what else is random? My phone has been I think one of your were hacked me or something. My phone has been showing hebrew adds like a male hebrew. Like here’s furniture, hebrew furniture and here’s some, you know, macadamia nuts and here’s some hebrew honey. And if you want to fly to the Israel and then I’m on like youtube, listen to music and sermons and stuff in between sports commentary. Pops the hebrew rich hebrew accent Individual. I’m like, what is happening? That’s so random. That’s not what you expect. Where’d that come from pivoting to our passage. We are looking at Luke 12 verse 13. Something random and unexpected happens in Luke 1213 as well. So Jesus might have stopped for a drink of water or is eating his lunch and preaching and he’s teaching like we’ve been looking at the last couple of weeks, but Luke 12, 13 randomly unexpectedly someone in the crowd shouts out says to him, teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me. Yeah. Some of your like what? Yeah, this is not expected. This is, this is kind of like if one of you shout it out and then we just changed the whole course of events of our morning because of what you said. Uh, and so jesus entertained. This man’s legal question in verse luke 12 verse 14, but he said to him, man who made me a judge or arbitrator over you. An…

  • Luke 12:1-12
Good morning sir church, Good morning friends, good morning to those of you, tuning in on the livestream, so good to be with you this morning. Um if I haven’t met you, my name is dan and I am one of the elders here and this morning, we are going to continue looking at the gospel according to luke, so go ahead and turn to chapter 12 of luke, We will read the 1st 12 verses of Chapter 12. While you’re turning there, I just kind of want to set this up for you by saying this as a pastor, it is sometimes hard two acknowledge and to accept the reality that I need Grace when it comes to living out what I preach and God has given me that grace, he saw fit to give me that grace through relationships like my wife, my kids, my close friends and then I served with here at your church when we realize that God has given us that grace to help us to live out the very things that we teach and preach from the pulpit, that is for us, a reminder that we need jesus that were dependent upon jesus and when I see in the faces and in the eyes of those near me, when I fall short of what Jesus has called me to again, I am reminded of God’s grace to me through those relationships and through their words, through them pointing me back to the truth of God’s scripture, so that I can continue to trust in christ, depend upon christ lean on christ for my own sanctification and growth and maturity and never, ever think to myself that I have arrived, that’s where I’m at now, that I have arrived and you know what, that’s normal, we’re not talking about lowering standards or accommodating gross sin and the things that would disqualify an elder, what we’re talking about is being a christian and the daily fight and battle to be like christ, to overcome the various battles that we have to face as christians and I’m thankful for the grace that God has given me and his word through his spirit, but most importantly through those relationships that point me back to him when I get off track, that is good, that is normal, that should be your experience, that’s why we talk about community groups, discipleship groups, that’s why we talk about the gospel, being central to everything that we do, so that that would be your normal experience, that would be normal for you as a single person, that would be normal for you as a married person, that you would, yes, acknowledge that it is normal for my spouse to need jesus and to need to depend upon jesus, just like I need jesus and am depending upon him and his grace, that you would see that it’s normal for you to see that your kids need jesus, for your kids to see that you need jesus and for the both of you would talk that you would talk about, your need for jesus, that would be normal. You know what’s not normal is when we can acknowledge that, when we fail to see that, when we think that we have arrived, that whatever title position or label that I’ve embraced of authority, somehow I have arrived, that’s when we become hypocrites. And there’s a, there’s a lot of that going around, right people that rule over us forget that. So pastor mike talked about that last week. Today, we’re gonna look at this passage where jesus warns his disciples, don’t you become a hypocrite? And in the passage, he says, here are some things that I want to warn you against that might take you down the road to becoming a hypocrite. And as we look at those warnings were gonna see both solutions and gospel comforts to us. I want to talk about all of that this morning without further ado, let me read the passage and then we’ll get into this teaching luke chapter 12, beginning in verse one, it says in the meantime, When so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one, another he began to say to his disciples first be aware of the…

They replied, some say john the baptist, others say Elijah and still others, one of the prophets. But what about you? Who do you say I am All right. Ah ah, welcome. I didn’t know it was a dress update for church. I brought my Ben looked really sharp, dapper, I brought my paul I this morning, this is uh, an old college injury infection from every time you get worn down happens once a year. Don’t worry about me. I got a bloodshot eye once a year for a couple of days. Hi, hi, my name is mike, I’m telling you all my hippo things going on in my life. Welcome. Thank you for coming to church. If you’re on the livestream, good to see you if you’re in person, I’m glad to have you here. I’m excited for this time. Before we jump into this time. I have a short story, I think kinda helps set the mental stage for me as I’ve been contemplating this passage, I am reminded of taekwondo and toilets, I have a generous grandpa grandfather who’s been my wife’s korean and he’s been sending my kids to taekwondo practice and they’ve been working through their belts, there’s a million belts between the belt they are and where they want to be, but this last week they all, we’re doing practice and uh, and he’s like, mike, you’re a pastor, you gotta, you got to pastor your kids and she said it nicer than that, but that’s the sound bite that I remember and I’m like, yeah, she’s right. And so I was at taekwondo practice and one of my kids went off to the, to the bathroom and he went into one of the stalls and he was standing in the bathroom, in the stall with a toilet and I’m like looking up like a dad, I’m like, I’m missing a kid, where is he? And so I went into the bathroom like, hey, what’s going on, bud, how you doing? What’s going on? And he’s like telling me, I’m just embarrassed. It was hard, it was difficult. He didn’t say that. Exactly, but he said, you know, I was embarrassed. It was hard, I don’t know what to do, I couldn’t, you know, jump, kick, do something. So I went to the bathroom and hitting the to…

jesus and his disciples went onto the villages around caesarea philippi on the way, he asked them who do people say I am, they replied, some say john the baptist, others say elijah and still others, one of the prophets. But what about you? Who do you say? I am Amen. It’s good to be with you this morning. We are going to continue going through the book of luke. We’ve been working our way through this for a couple of falls and now winter and so we, we’ve been making our way through. But it’s amazing to just go through a verse by verse, section by section and discover God’s word with you today. I’m, I’m calling the sermon today the greater one and you’ll see why here. But I thought for a good example or just a good illustration might be um something that’s happened to me, I will just share a story, Maybe it’s happened to you. I wish I could say this has only happened once, but it’s actually happened multiple times. And it’s when I’ve gone to the fridge and I open the fridge and I’m looking for something, let’s say catch up. Right. And I open the fridge and I’m like, there’s no ketchup, Hey baby, is there any, do we have ketchup? Is there any ketchup, yep, it’s on the right shelf, like there’s no catch up. She walks in, you know, she’s like, it’s right here, you know, like, yep right in front of my face, right? It’s, it’s amazing how sometimes it’s like right there and you can miss it and I’m like how in the world did that just happen. And so I think that just gives us a little bit of as you’ll see. Looking at luke 11 26 2 39. What I’m talking about here. So let me read here, Luke 11, the first portion 1126 through 32. And then we’ll jump into that. It says as the crowds were increasing. He began saying, this generation is an evil generation. It demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Ninevah. So also the son of man will be to this generation, the queen of the south will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon and look something greater than Solomon is here. The men of Ninevah will stand up in judgment with this generation and condemn it because they repented at Jonas preaching and look something greater than Jonah is here. And so it speaks about it a couple of times, just the greater one and initially, you know, we see in the crowds are increasing, it’s getting bigger and bigger and bigger and most people would be like, yes, yes, right, we’re gaining momentum. This is exactly what we want, bigger, bigger, bigger more people and yet jesus kind of slashes that pretty quickly. We look back on verse 14, which was covered uh this last week and looking at, hey, why was it even getting bigger? Well, in verse 14, it talks about how he was healing a person who was mute, right? He had a mute demon in him. He cast that out and people were amazed and says they were amazed. And so they started gathering and it’s pretty easy, you have a street performer, a guy playing some music on the corner or whatever and right, if they’re really good, you can gather a crowd pretty quickly, people come around and if someone’s healing people doing some miraculous things, I don’t think it would take much to be like, tell your buddy, call your friend, gather people and all of a sudden you have a big crowd. That’s right. The crowd is getting bigger and bigger and bigger a lot of times we think, yes, bigger, right? More. And then jesus says, this is a wicked generation, alright, if you want to cut a crowd real quickly, go there, right, this is a wicked generation. And so that’s where he starts and he’s and and so he says, you guys is sin is right out there, it’s wicked, it’s evi…

Well, good morning, good morning, saw a church family, Good morning to those of you tuning, tuning in on the livestream, um and good morning to those of you who are new here, who I haven’t met, look forward to meeting you, my name is dan, I’m one of the elders here at our church and we are going to continue this morning in our Coverage of the Gospel of Luke and we are going to be in Luke chapter 11, um, but as you’re turning there, I do have kind of a, something exciting, something to celebrate, maybe something to put before you, something for you guys to think about and be praying about um you know, this time that we live in in history, it’s a, it’s an interesting time, there’s a lot of, of, of questions, there’s a lot of fear, there’s division here and there and one of the things that’s really important for us to get is that we are the people of God, we are the church were the people who have been shaped by a love of God, who are rooted in the hope of God and his church is a part of his unshakable kingdom. And so in times like this, there needs to be a church, there needs to be a presence for the gospel to be preached for the word of God to be taught to remind people that God is still God, even when we are afraid, even when we have questions and on that note, one of our dear elders is praying and seeking the Lord about when and where to plant a church derek grumpy. And so I want you guys to be aware of that. Be praying about that. Be thinking about that because it’s so needed in this hour. We’re not going to allow darkness to shape how we think about the future going forward. But we’re gonna think about our God, his plans, his words. And we’re gonna lean into that. There needs to be more of the testimony of jesus, christ, Amen, amen. And so we’re praying about new places to go and to bring that testimony to bring that witness. So on that note, right, we’re gonna look at Luke 11. I’m just excited. I’m really excited this morning. I’m really excited for this time. I’ll be honest with you though, as I was looking at this passage, started reading it last week. I started reading it every day last week, every day this week multiple times, john down notes multiple times this morning. And there was not a sense of comfort about teaching this passage because it’s a difficult passage. When I was younger in the faith, I would have been really eager, bold and excited to teach this passage and probably most of what I would have said would have been heresy. But now through the grace of the Lord is he’s helping me to understand some things. I must admit it’s a tough passage. But that’s what we do here at sewer. We don’t back away. We don’t shy away from tough passages. That’s why we teach through books of the bible so that we God’s people can be exposed to the full and whole counsel of God. Amen. So I’m gonna read the passage now, verse 14 of Luke. He says now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out the mute man spoke and the people marveled. But some of them said he casts out demons by the eligible the prince of demons, while others psa test him, kept seeking from him a sign from heaven. But he knowing their thoughts, said to them, every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste and a divided household falls. And if satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand for? You say that I cast out demons by be eligible. And if I cast out demons by being visible. Who by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man, fully armed guards, his own palace, his goods are safe. But when one stronger than he attacks him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor and w…
