Save You was written in the Summer of 2022 for the Castles In Space subscription Library album, "Participation".

Participation is a collection of tracks produced by members of the sub library themselves - a great little idea that has yielded some great results.

Every so often I write a song with words and singing and stuff. I'm never really quite sure what to do with them, as they don't really 'fit' with what I'm putting out and I'm never quite 100% happy with the songs.

This is one of the better ones. I thought I'd take a break from writing new stuff and was trawling old folder when I came across it, and I thought I'd pop it on here just for shits & giggles 😉

A little Twixmas noodling delivered this lovely little motif. Generally, the way I work is find a couple of sounds I like, and then work up a few 4 or 8 bar loops and clips. Once I have a few options, I wallop a simple arrangement together. Sometimes. I'll do this until I have a batch of musical snippets, then go back over them and see what sticks.

This is the first that has 'stuck' from the most recent batch - so it's had a bit of extra attention last night/today. It is still firmly a work in progress, but I like it a lot - not sure whether I'll work it up into a longer piece, or simply todo it up and keep it as a 2 minute shortie. That little lead line in the middle has potential, though. I think I'm leaning towards a longer piece - what do you think?
