A look at a damaged recording I encountered in my 8mm digitization project, and what I tried to get the best possible playback of it.

A gift from my friend Marc and a trip to the thrift store yielded some excellent upgrades for the Dell Optiplex 780. Here we install and test them, and benchmark them against the old parts.

Thanks to a viewer, I learned how to use the program Handbrake to de-interlace the video from my camcorders such that the result is a much nicer looking 60 FPS output. Here I demonstrate the video quality and show how to configure Handbrake.

I should mention that this camcorder is actually called a Zenith VM6200. It is a re-brand of the JVC counterpart, and these days I just automatically recall the JVC designation.
