    Die Niederlande investieren 595 Millionen Euro oder 35 Euro pro Einwohner*in im Jahr in die Fahrradinfrastruktur. Der durchschnittliche Niederländer fährt 912 Kilometer pro Jahr mit dem Fahrrad, wodurch allein das Gesundheitssystem 19 Milliarden Euro (3% des BIP) einspart.

    Radfahren in den Niederlanden bringt weitere 35 Milliarden Euro an jährlichem Nutzen (CO2-Reduktion, Vermeidung von Luftverschmutzung usw.), die die Investition von 595 Millionen Euro bei weitem übersteigen. Das ist eine Rendite, die fast 59 Mal höher ist als die Kosten.
