Being childfree or also called voluntary childlessness, is the voluntary choice not to have children. Childfree can also be defined as people or couples that choose the situation without a child. Childfree has become a trend since the early 2000, and it tends to refer to skeptical portrayals of parenthood in the media as new and modern phenomena.
In this Sparkle Mind podcast episode, I want to talk about how I can end up paying attention to this kind of belief or sensational decision. Yet, childfree still sounds like a controversial lifestyle both from the society, human history perspective, and religion. When a woman decides to be childfree, there will be so many social consequences, pressure, and backlash from society, inner circle, and family due to this life choice. Most people consider it a selfish decision, but some believe that childfree by choice is a stigma breaker and is supposed to be a women’s right.
This podcast is presented to ISPA (Isu Perempuan dan Anak) Competition in collaboration with @forumperempuanfmipa and @bemfmipaunsri. I’m so excited to share it with you, and I hope all of you can acquire a lot of insight and knowledge regarding childfree by choice. Happy listening 😊
