The woman and her dog were not regulars at the coffee shop I frequented. I never saw them before that day; believe me, I see everything.

There is a spot in the Sangre de Christo Mountains where you can see all the way out across the north-eastern plains of New Mexico for a hundred miles. This is where the four men of our story were setting up camp one early May evening.
