Episode 315: Angel Heart/The Serpent and the Rainbow. Picking up on our recent conversation about The Believers (1987), we take a look at two other late 80s genre mashups combining noir crime thriller elements with supernatural religious horrors and A-list stars. Episode 314: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy. Not to be confused with Brendan Fraser’s mummy, Tom Cruise’s mummy, Boris Karloff’s mummy, or any mummy brought to you by Universal Pictures. This mummy is Lee Cronin’s alone and it’s got nothing to do with any one else’s. How does Dr Cronin’s monster stack up against not only previous versions but his own past work with Deadites and evil children? Let’s unwrap. Plus, The Mummy (1932). 

Episode 313: Faces of Death (2026). The unlikeliest horror franchise IP resurrection that nobody asked for of all time may have now arrived in Faces of Death, a “remake” of the 1978 mondo film that went on to become part of cult horror lore in the 80s VHS boom and spawned three proper sequels. “In a remake, you can get away with murder”, warns a character in Faces of Death 2026, as the film breaks all the conventional remake rules while serving the master of its title. One of us loved it. 

Episode 312: They Will Kill You. From Russian writer/director Kirill Sokolov comes an action horror comedy that wears its influences on its hyper-stylized sleeve. Starring Zazie Beetz along with a stellar supporting cast, including Heather Graham and Patricia Arquette, and produced by Andy and Barbara Muschietti (IT parts 1&2, Welcome To Derry), They Will Kill You slashed into theaters with minimal promotional fanfare. Plus, The Believers (1987) and more. 

Episode 311: Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. One of three theatrical releases this year starring Samara Weaving, as the Australian actress continue to cement official Scream Queen status, and coming seven years after Ready or Not, the Radio Silence filmmaking crew is back and promising a bigger, bloodier and more cameo filled game in Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. Plus, Bad Girl, The Babysitter, and Borderline. 

Episode 310: Undertone. “The scariest movie you’ll ever hear” has been brought to wide theatrical release by A24, starring Nina Kiri and Adam DiMarco. The feature directorial debut of writer/director Ian Tuason, Undertone promises an experience in auditory terror on an indie film budget and has been a relative box office success. We’re all ears. Plus, Monolith (2022), and Berberian Sound Studio (2012). 

Episode 309: The Bride! From writer/director Maggie Gyllenhaal comes a bold reimagining of the classic Universal monsters character, along with a reimagining of Mary Shelley herself and the entire Frankenstein mythos. Jessie Buckley stars in a multi-role performance, including the titular bride, opposite Christian Bale as Frankenstein's monster and a strong supporting cast including Peter Sarsgaard, Penelope Cruz, Annette Benning, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Yes it bombed spectacularly but what did we think? IT"S UNALIVE! Plus, Men (2022) and Beast (2017).

Episode 308: Scream 7. Setting a franchise record for biggest opening weekend and featuring the return of not only Neve Campbell as Sidney but also of writer/director Kevin Williamson, Scream 7 arrives with great expectation only two years after the controversial abandonment of the Scream reboot trilogy, begun in 2022. Can the reunion of Campbell and Williamson kickstart this franchise once again or is it time to give up the ghost? Plus, Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994) and In the Mouth of Madness (1994). 

Episode 307: The Plague/Strange Harvest. On an off week from theaters we’re checking out two films from 2025 that were largely missed by general audiences but taken note of by horror fans. Plus, Psycho Killer, Predator Badlands, Grave Encounters, and more. 

Episode 306: The Lesser Massacres. Upon news that A24 Studios has acquired the film and television rights to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, we decided to take a dive into what is widely regarded as one of the least successful yet enduring series of sequels among the big horror film franchises. Beginning with Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and working our way through the subsequent sequels in chronological order until we can't take anymore, this week the saw is family. Who will survive and what will be left of us?
