Episode 328: The End of Oak Street. From writer/director David Robert Mitchell (It Follows) and producer J.J. Abrams, The End of Oak Street promises a sci-fi survival thriller where Jurassic Park meets 1980s suburbia. And this time, the dinosaurs have feathers. Plus, in advance of the upcoming Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, a look back at Jane Schoenbrun's debut feature, We're All Going to the World's Fair (2022). 

Episode 327: Ice Cream Man. The latest feature from Eli Roth’s Horror Section is courting controversy for all the wrong reasons. Never mind the splatter and tasteless humor (or the reference to A Serbian Film), there’s plenty more to be mad at in Ice Cream Man and we will give you the scoop. 

Episode 326: Saccharine. From the director of Relic (2020) and Apartment 7A (2024), comes a new Shudder original film that asks the question, what’s eating you? Australian filmmaker Natalie Erika James feeds us a steady diet of body horror and familial fear in this surprisingly ambitious food porn epic. Plus, a look at the forgotten Norwegian slasher franchise, Cold Prey.

Episode 324: Evil Dead Burn. The sixth installment of the Evil Dead film franchise comes just three years after Evil Dead Rise, the shortest gap between sequels since 1990’s Army of Darkness, with a seventh film (Evil Dead Wrath) scheduled for release in 2028. How does writer and director Sébastien Vaniček’s entry stack up against the rest of the newly expanding franchise and what does it mean for its future? Everything’s coming up dead. 

Episode 323: In a Violent Nature - Resident Evil (2002). In anticipation of In a Violent Nature 2 and a new Resident Evil film later this year, we took a look back at the origins of each franchise, one recent and one from a distant past. Episode 322: Leviticus. The feature film debut of Australian writer/director Adrian Chiarella tells the story of forbidden love between two teen boys in a deeply conservative, rural township and the curse set upon them by church leaders that turns what they love most against them. Leviticus won't get the kind attention that some horror releases have enjoyed this year but it did get a theatrical release and we think it's well worth a look. Plus, a well known film that Leviticus inevitably calls to mind, no spoilers. 

Episode 321: Dolly/Heresy/Blood Creek. Out of sequence episode recorded earlier this year checking out two new Shudder original/exclusives and a 2009 Joel Schumacher deep cut about ancient Nazi vampires that was not called Nazferatu. Inexcusable. 

Episode 320: The Evil Dead (1981). In anticipation of the upcoming release of Evil Dead Burn (the sixth installment of the film franchise), we take a look back at the one that started it all, The Evil Dead, as well the third film in the series, Army of Darkness (1990). Which makes Evil Dead the first horror film franchise to be covered in complete, end to end, on Speak All Evil. Episode 319: Backrooms. The number one movie in America, the biggest opening weekend ever for an original horror film (and for A24), and the 4th biggest horror opening of all time domestic, all now belong to Backrooms. Meanwhile, horror also occupies the number two spot at the box office as Obsession continues to set records in its third weekend in theaters. Let’s get into it.
