Special Episode: This is how racism feels
I decided to share it because it captures my emotions at a very difficult time. I though that people needed to see it as so many people were disconnected from this subject, but it also helped a lot of people express how they felt at the time.

We are increasingly spending more time on our social media. Because of this, people are asking ‘Is social media a good or bad thing?’, ‘Does it impact society positively?’ and ‘Is it bad for your mental health?’.
Social media influences how we interact with our friends, our family. We watch loads of video content via YouTube, Instagram, etc., and we’re also finding partners on dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble. As a result, do you feel that social media is feeding our misconceptions of who we are and how our audiences perceive us? Do people create experiences just so they can share them on their social media? Is there pressure to portray that you’re living a perfect life?
The Speak On panel discuss social media and the influence it has on the way we share information.
When a hot topic appears on your Facebook timeline or Twitter newsfeed, do you think before liking and reposting?
With so much misinformation and ‘fake news’ coming onto our screens, we’re asking ‘are people too quick to react to and share content before doing a bit of research first?’.
Do you take the opportunity to look into content before liking and reposting?

The Speak On panel discusses #MeToo, including their own moments and the impact the movement has had globally.
The viral campaign created a global watershed moment when it first exploded onto social media in 2017. Victims of sexual abuse and inappropriate behaviour have come out in their thousands on Twitter and other social media using the hashtag to talk openly about their experiences and raise awareness of this issue.
From unsolicited comments and catcalling through to serious assault, the panel asks what can be done to solve this ongoing and widespread problem.
The panel also explores when the allegations have been met with comments that could be called 'victim blaming'. These statements (some from high-profile women) suggest that those who have experienced sexual assault can themselves be at fault, echoing the shocking 'asking for it' sentiment.
So, as women, do we have a responsibility for our own safety? Does the style of clothes we choose to wear, or the drinking of alcohol determine if we are victims or not?

Social media is a great way to connect and share interests as well as express ideas. But we’ve all seen inappropriate and offensive status updates and posts across our social media channels. Whether it’s people you know or anonymous internet trolls and cyber bullies, do you call the posters out?
The Speak On panel explore everything from mean tweets and Facebook trolls through to #NoFilter on Instagram, questioning if we should pull someone up on their prejudice posts and mean messages.
Do you challenge people when they say nasty and offensive things online? Do you think Instagram filters are a form of catfishing or just creative fun?
