Okomfo Kwao was born in Haiti in 1967. In 1970 his parents were exiled to the Central Republic of Africa. His family then moved to the New York in 1975, where in 1988 he attended City College of New York and began as a student activist and organizer. Okomfo Kwao married his wife Lifoma in 1991 and they moved to Washington DC in 1999 to work with Ankobea Society. He is currently coordinator of the Ankobea male rites of passage program. Okomfo Kwao is physically active in martial arts, Tough Mudder competitions, calisthenics and biking. He is a father of four sons, three of whom have also graduated from spiritual training as shrine-workers, and a grandfather of four.

Yaw Àgbẹ̀dẹ is a licensed professional engineer and a visionary educator who is committed to using his skills and expertise towards empowering Afrikan communities to survive and thrive through the sustainable use of indigenous Afrikan technical knowledge and paradigms. His areas of technical expertise include watershed mapping and evaluation, ecological restoration of streams and wetlands, stormwater green infrastructure design and inspection, as well as the sustainable design and construction of rural water and sanitation infrastructure.  Born in Augusta, Georgia, USA, Àgbẹ̀dẹ attended the top-ranked John S. Davidson Fine Arts high school where he studied photography, theater production, and other arts. Upon graduation from high school, he enrolled in the Georgia Institute of Technology where he graduated with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Àgbẹ̀dẹ also holds technical degrees in Automotive Technology and Emergency Medicine along with additional certifications in the Design and Installation of Solar Photovoltaic Systems and Wilderness First Response.  Àgbẹ̀dẹ has served as an educator in the US public school system, in private secondary institutions, and in post-secondary institutions before making his home in the independent Afrikan-centered educational community in Atlanta, Georgia. Some of the institutions he has worked with include Akobɛn Institute, Pearl Academy Math and Science Institute, Roots to Fruits and several others where he taught a range of courses including Afrikan-centered mathematics, engineering and science as well as physical education, survival skills, Afrikan languages, and automotive repair.   In 2012 Àgbẹ̀dẹ founded NKALA Environmental as an outlet to apply his engineering expertise to communities throughout the Afrikan world. Simultaneously, NKALA Education was born as an online outlet to connect culturally conscious and revolutionary students with the skills necessary to forge their own reality. He is the father of two sons - Kwabena Nzûndu and Kiyala Tanmeawu.

Nigel Jackson was born in Hackensack, New Jersey and later attended James Madison University and later Howard University. His primary professional practice is in the District of Columbia and surrounding areas. In 2011, he founded Sankofa Consulting, Inc., which provides an array of mental health and educational services including but not limited to: direct services for older black adolescent youth typically referred to as “at-risk”, administrative consultation to public, private and charter schools, private clinical practice for adult black men and adult black couples, as well as professional developments. He is an educational psychologist and licensed clinical social worker, but prefers to explain his work as “one who explores the condition of the soul and its effect on thought and behavior.” He lives in the Washington, DC area with his wife, Verline, and their five (5) children.

Today this episode of Speak To After we have Kwasi Densu. Densu was born and raised in Philadelphia but has spent  most of his adult  life in the South. He grew up in an activist family and came of age during the "Golden Age" of hip hop. Densu is a farmer,, community organizer and professor at teach at FAMU.

T'Shango Mbilishaka is an award winning teacher who has taught in inner city communities in Boston and Washington D.C. for 15 years. He has been an administrator and taught grades pre-K to college. He never liked school so he decided to do everything to make school more interesting and exciting for students including creating hands-on-interactive lessons, going on field trips regularly, having guest presenters, teaching students their history and having classes relevant to the real world. T'Shango has developed community programs, parenting programs, Women's Self-Defense Programs, Men's support groups and Rites of Passage programs that all include learning self-defense. He began martial arts at the age of 12 but really excelled in Wrestling in High School. He enjoys studying the history of ancient African Warriors, War Empires in Africa, traditional African fighting styles and the great Martial Artists of the 60's and 70's and 80's such as Ron Van Clief, Tayari Casel, Vic Moore, Ahati Kilindi Iyi, Jim Kelly, Doc Moses Powell and many more. T'Shango studies Senuces Ryu Jujitsu under Professor Lusk Penn and trains in Brazilian Jujitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, and Kali. T'Shango was featured in Essence Magazine for bringing his students to Senegal, West Africa where they were able to meet and train with wrestlers on the beach who practice Laam.

Okomfo Kwabena Frempong is a a shrine-worker, husband, father, warrior, and nationbuilder. He is the co- founder of the Abusua Pa Black Family Institute and the Maafa Kebuka Ancestral Commemoration which takes places annually in Richmond, VA. Okomfo Kwabena also works a a social worker in the public school system. He is committed to cultural reconstruction, shrine work, the liberation of the Black Nation.

In March 2000 when Dead Prez dropped the landmark album, “Let’s Get Free,” life changed for Bomani Mayasa. He was a solo artist with a record deal on the table, and other major artists  also itching to sign him to a record deal. “Let’s Get Free” inspired Bomani to use his music and his voice to promote revolution. He walked away from all potential deals and a career in the music industry to form UNITED FRONT in 2003 w/ Deedle Green.
