Speak Your Truth With Aleen Bailey

Listen Later

This week on the show, 2004 Olympic Gold medalist, 3x World medalist including a Gold in 2009, 2003 NCAA Champion in both the 100m & 200m and now sprint coach at Cane Bay High School in South Carolina, Former Jamaican Sprinter Aleen Bailey. Aleen was around during a special time In Jamaica, she helped create history in 2004 where she helped Jamaica win their first relay Gold medal in the history of the event. In this episode, Aleen and I touch on a lot of things:

Including how she got into the track. Track and field wasn't something she kinda came into in her form, it was something someone close to her advised her to do, Aleen had a lot of anger inside of her and she would get into a lot of fights, but this was all because of an incident that she had to bottle up back then that she can talk about it now. We talk about her time at Barton community college, her sprint doubles at South Carolina, how she handles transition, the 2004 Olympic Games, lots of stories and memories in between, her relationship with Jamaican dancehall star Capleton and how she finds balance in her life today and so so so much more.

This is an episode you don't want to miss.
