Zip touches briefly on the tragic turn in the DeShaun Watson saga twice in this episode before shifting towards the Rockets' consistent awfulness and trade of starting forward P.J. Tucker. The Rockets are so bad that Zip legitimately and unironically uses the phrase "eat their own balls" to describe being a member of the Rockets. Did you want some San Diego Rockets and/or San Diego sports history talk? No? Too bad, the team is that bad. Sit down and learn.
Houstazona Cardinals talk is back, babbbbbbbiee as Zip tangents into retired numbers talk through J.J. Watt number selection decisions! And somehow it lead into a touching and informative tangent on how the American League color barrier was broken in the MLB.
It's a firesale in Houston. Everything must go! But more important than who are the Rockets going to trade -- is who is at the door, Zipp? Who was at the DAMN door!? We must know. After Zipp answers his door, he talks Rockets trade deadline, realizes he's not talking about any games because why would he do that and then tangents completely talking about the All-Star game of which no Rockets participated? He also sidelines the Astros until April and continues talking about the Houstazona Cardinals The Hell machine abides.
RUGBY TALK OUT OF NOWHERE like a Randy Orton RKO.
In his second look at the state of Houston sports, Zipp takes time to appreciate the Astro's lack of ability to hurt him during spring training (is it already this bad?) before diving into Houston Texans great J.J. Watt's departure to the Arizona Cardinals and the surprise of his decision not to chase a Super Bowl title and the lack of surprise of quarterback DeShaun Watson now being tide to the Cardinals in rumors. The existential dread involving the Cardinals is already setting in. Oh and the Rockets exist....in theory.....
In the last ever episode of the Week-Ended Take era of the podcast, the fellas talk about the on-field-turned-media battle between Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady while going on multiple tangents involving a Terrell Huff's impersonation, a D.R. vs Daniel basketball rivalry story and proper dating etiquette. Then, they set flame to Texas senator Ted Cruz for obvious reasons.
In the pilot minisode of this new "docu-series" Zipp from Gamma Gator's No Redeeming Qualities comes over to the sports side of life to chronicle the next year Houston sports pain. Following a meteoric rise of Houston sports to end the 2010's, one podcast comedian from Houston will document the next year of likely crippling agony in H-Towns sports.
We finally make our big reveal after months and months of teasing. Enjoy that sweet relief. Then much like the Super Bowl, things go completely off the rails in the second half before Austin literally leaves before we can close the live stream. Does he come back? Listen and find out.
It's part one of our second annual whacky as hell Super Bowl live stream and suffice it to say, it goes off the rails and keeps going that way. From Austin misidentifying Keenan Thompson to talks about an Only Fans, much more is said beyond breaking down Pat Mahomes aka The Lamb vs Tom Brady aka The GOAT.
And you're going to love it all.
Tre Blanco and Sous Boy Davidson join y'all right before the Super Bowl to break down the X's and O's of non-Cowboys football and the three Black coordinators in the big dance who didn't get much head coaching love but prior to that, they break down Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's chances of getting paid vs getting a second franchise tag along with the movement around the rest of the quarterbacks from his draft class.

Since Tre Blanco aka Edd White spoiled the surprise, the fellas dedicated a whole episode to taking y'all behind the scenes and inside the minds of them trying to rename The Week-Ended Take podcast. Also apparently you can call Austin Brezina whatever you want; so maybe you should hit him up on Twitter (Max10n1) and call him things that aren't his name.
It's a very meta episode to kick off season 2 of A Mid-Week's Take.
Back from their holiday break and ready to start season two, the fellas begin where they always seem to find themselves -- trashing Houston sports. Quarterback DeShaun Watson and his team the Houston Texans find themselves at odds due to a dispute over the direction of the organization. The guys break it down from start to finish as they speak on yet another mishap with a Houston sports organization. Then, they celebrate the joy of ex-Senator Karen's ousting from Congress and the WNBA.
