T VIC! That's right, Episode 5 is here and it features the goodness that is Champaign-Urbana legends Terminus Victor. Scott Kimble and Don King from T Vic joined me talk about their songwriting process, working together for 30 years as musicians and who smiles more--Don or Eddie Van Halen. Stick around until the end of the episode to hear "The Hands of Gridlock" from the album Prevention vs. Intervention.
Terminus Victor music is both immediate and insidious. More generally described as a blend of rock, alternative rock, and post-punk with a dash of shoegaze. Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Slint, HUM and more are influential ingredients in the wall of sound recipe cooked up by Scott Kimble [Bass/Vocals], Don King [Guitar], and Terry Wathen [Drums]. This band's tastes become known through their music and lyrics that communicate powerful yet vulnerable expressions of raw emotion, insecurities and empathy with the pain and beauty of life as common people.

April Adams is a self-taught portrait and fine arts photographer who operates April Love Photography. A photographer for over fifteen years, in her early work she began by photographing concepts in abandoned buildings. April later moved on to photographing weddings and portraits for clients although she has recently returned to focus on photography as fine art through conceptual work. April finds inspiration through music, current events, and meditation. Through photography, she strives to evoke emotion and thought--photos that tell a story and connect with the viewer on a personal level. April's passion is photography. Her conceptual and editorial style can be seen bleeding over into her portrait work, giving it a moody and story-telling vibe.

Episode 2 is here and it features my good buddy and genuinely good human being Colin Larson of the band Otherglow. He’s a talented musician, songwriter, drummer, engineer, producer, and livestreamer. Colin just put out a fantastic album called Grey Sky filled with killer guitars, hot drumshots, and plenty of ethereal soundscapes. We talk all things music in the pandemic and post-pandemic world, fog machines and what happens behind the scenes in Otherglow headquarters, and the time he "took out the garbage" during a live session!

Back in 2015, I interviewed Allen Epley, singer and guitarist, and Eric Abert, bassist, from the powerful Chicago rock trio The Life and Times. Al and Eric talked with me about their 2014 album Lost Bees, making records, and the best Sirius XM channel's to listen to while touring the country.
You can check out The Life and Times at thelifeandtimes.com and Al and Eric’s studio at electronical.bandcamp.com.
