Not Following – Pablo relates back to a four and a half year relationship he had in his early 20’s. He says that it should have been much shorter than that. As it progressed, things were going downhill. It was getting to the point where his partner was being a bad teammate. He kept debating on whether to leave or not.

Not Following – This is when Reba decided to go into business with her best friend. Her “yes” was that she needed to tell her friend the truth, but she didn’t do that. Because of this, they ended up losing their friendship for a year.

Following – With Reba’s book, “Post-Traumatic Church Syndrome”, she was originally with another publisher. She ended up getting an opportunity to meet with another agent. Meeting with this agent was going to take travel and time, but she had a strong sense that she needed to do this. She ended up meeting with the agent and it ended up being one of the best decisions she’s ever made.

One of Reba’s biggest “trip ups” came with her best friend. They had decided that they were going to start a business together and it didn’t go well. This was about ten years ago and they had a great idea.

What they discovered in the process is that they’re fantastic friends but horrible in working together. What tripped her up was that she felt like she couldn’t be honest at times with her friend.

One of Reba’s proudest moments in partnership came with her editor for her book, ‘Post Traumatic Church Syndrome’. What her editor did was take her raw talent and experience, and taught her how to craft it into a story. In a period of over 18 months, her editor did everything in her power to help her along the way.

Nearing the end, Reba asked her for her honest opinion on what she thought of the book and everything, and she replied with “I’m so happy and proud to have my name involved with this book.”

Not Following – From a young age Greg was able to help people relieve themselves from pain; he always knew what to do. So, he studied massage therapy and he also had a huge passion for music. He felt like he was really having trouble making money with it.

Throughout the next 9 years, Greg tried different positions but was never truly in love with any of the positions, and he knew that. 

It started to take a toll on him, getting aches and pains, and then ended up getting quite sick. Around the same time he was fired from his position.

Although all of it was a shock, it was a wake up call for him to follow his passions. From there, things started to fall into place.

Following – Back at the end of Antonia’s corporate job in the 90’s, she had a vision in a healing session she had with a healing mentor. She could not get the vision out of her mind so Antonia started writing. 

She kept writing and writing, and she pinned pointed the vision was taking place in Ireland. So, she decided to go to Ireland. She wanted to figure out where this book was set.

Antonia & Greg have been together for 40 years, so in that time they’ve had many trip ups in their partnership. One of those more difficult moments came when their kids were teenagers. When you’re together you have so many partnerships. One of those major partnerships is how to parent together. 

Greg and Antonia described themselves as “night and day” when it comes to how they think. With that, they both had very different parenting styles. This was a huge challenge for them at points.

One of their proudest moments came with their daughter. You know your kids pretty well but not everything. This was a time of total compassion and their daughter in a time of finding herself. 

Near the end of high school she went to them and expressed that she thought she was gay. They told her that they had an idea that it may have been the case. Their daughter jokingly said “why didn’t you tell me?”. 

It was such a proud moment of acceptance, trust, and love.

Not Following – On a second date with a gentleman, Anna’s “Yes” showed up as a very strong NO. Instead of following this guidance she made every excuse to justify the relationship with this person and completely ignored the NO she felt in her body.

The relationship went on for a year and it spun her into a direction that was very self-sabotaging. Eventually he broke up with her in a very unpleasant way.

Not following her “Yes” cost her a year of her life, an unpleasant break up and not taking a different path that was more of a “Yes” for her.

Following – A couple of years ago Anna got very strong guidance to move to Colorado. At the time she lived in New York and had only been to Colorado a couple of times, but this guidance was undeniable.

Within six weeks she resolved her live in New York, packed her clothes and her dog in her car and moved to Colorado to an apartment she rented site unseen to start a new life.

Not once has she questioned her decision to follow her “Yes.”

Not Following – Marie-Elizabeth’s example of when she didn’t follow her “yes” was in her marriage. Her body was starting to get sick. Numerous problems started popping up so she started working out in every which way. But, it was a way to avoid feeling. 

All the drivenness was to ignore what was happening. Her body was trying to give her signs.

Following – In 2015, Marie-Elizabeth went to a meditation retreat. In the retreat they were being asked what they wanted. She was starting to get guidance on where she wanted to be. The silence and being still was so clear that she couldn’t ignore it.

Within 6 weeks she had sold her place and made the move. She moved to LA, where she wanted to be, and with a community she wanted to be part of.

Not Following – It isn’t the big things that Emilia has had hard times following, but rather the small things in her daily life. In the moment it doesn’t always have the biggest impact, but overtime it really does.

Some of those “micro yeses” are taking a walk when her body is telling her to or going outside and being in the sun. She often says “no” when she really should be saying “yes”.

Following – There was a time when Emilia signed up to host an exchange student. They ended up receiving a request from a girl who lived in Italy. There was a lot going on at the time when they received this request. Her initial thought was that she wasn’t good enough to host this beautiful girl and her family.

Not Following – Michelle had been through a painful ending to an off and on relationship she had had for 10 years.

She met a “bad boy” at a party and wanted to numb the pain she was in from the breakup, so even though she knew getting involved with this guy was not a good idea, she did it.

Ultimately, she had to get over the original painful breakup with the “bad boy” break up added on top of it.

These things happen because we are operating from the 3 F’s – fear, fantasy or falsehood.

Following – Michelle was not happy with her corporate job but they were giving her raise and increasing her benefits and she had another option that didn’t pay as much and would be less stressful.

Then she listened to her Yes and chose the path of peace. And it absolutely ended up being the right decision for her at that time.
