Today on this episode of Accessible Athletics I have Callum Denault joining me today on the phone from Ontario. Callum is a Special Olympics athlete and journalist who is employed with Special Olympics Ontario. I have him on my show today to talk about his role and what he does. I ask him for his advice on how athletes can stay healthy in life and sports.

I ask her what she thought of Hill Day which was held in Ottawa, Ontario in the middle of October. I also ask her what she does as CEO and how she likes it. I have her on my show today to talk to her about her new role as the Executive Director for the 2026 Grey Cup held in Calgary Alberta. I ask her how she got her role and why she chose that role. I also ask her how she thought the 2024 Special Olympic Winter Games went in Calgary. I ask her if she has any advice on how Special Olympic Athletes can stay healthy.

Jack has been on my show before and he is returning to talk about what is new with Motionball and what sports are going to be in Motionball 2025. I also ask what you can do as athletes to stay healthy outside of sports.

In this episode of Accessible Athletics, I am adding to my earlier episode on the importance of sleep by interviewing an expert in the field. I am very honoured to have on my show Dr. Ward Flemons. Dr. Flemons is a Professor at the Cummings School of Medicine and is the Department of Medicine Vice Chair of Health Analytics and Safety. He is the former head of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Calgary. I talk to Ward about the importance of sleep from his perspective and how important sleep is for everyone. He goes into great detail about why he chose to become a sleep doctor and what he does as a sleep doctor.

Today in this episode I have Special Guests joining me today. Their names are Peter and Jean and they are certified Pickleball coaches. I am bringing them on my show to talk to them about Pickleball and how they got started playing the sport. I also ask them questions about why they chose to get involved with coaching Pickleball with Special Olympics, and what advice they can give to Special Olympic athletes to stay healthy during the off season when their sports are finished.

In this episode of Accessible Athletics I have a special guest joining me today. He has been on my show before and is returning for a second time. His name is Bill Leesman and he is A Special Olympics Calgary coach and author of the three book The Apocalypse Series. I am interviewing him about how to stay active during sports and how to prepare for tournaments. I am also asking him about all three of his books, and if he is writing any more in the future.
