Michael is a 25 year old young man with Autism who learned how to use Spelling to Communicate 18 months ago. He says he felt like he was living in a silent prison and was ready to end it all. His mother has a message to ASHA, the American Speech Hearing/Language Association because of their statement that is keeping S2C out of schools, "How DARE YOU! How dare they act as gatekeepers. Spelling has saved my son's life!" She realizes now that all the therapies that we do for kids with Autism like ABA and Speech Therapy, they have it all wrong. Cindy isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions and open the door to topics that parents often wrestle with quietly—things like ABA therapy, bullying, vaccine injury, abuse, and new ways of communication such as Spelling to Communicate. As the show grows, so does the conversation—Season 4 explores spiritual insights, including telepathy and the hidden gifts that many families are just beginning to discover.
If you listen with an open mind and a tender heart, you may find comfort, hope, and maybe even a brand-new perspective on what it means to love someone on the Spectrum.
