This week on Spectrum Sundays, we are introducing Allison Peterman who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 19 in 2021. Since her diagnosis, she’s been working through social media to break stereotypes about autism and educate parents and advocates. Currently, she attends Pennsylvania State University and she aspires to become a pediatric X-ray technologist at a children’s hospital. She also wishes to travel and speak about the misconceptions of autism while advocating for the community.

This week we welcome back Anita Young, who holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish Education from Mansfield University, a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Wilkes University, and is currently working toward her Principal's Certification at Point Park University. In this episode we talk about her experience working in the schools. We also discussed the process of seeking an autism diagnosis as a parent. She is an active member in her community and supports the Central PA Autism Community by organizing, coordinating, and producing marketing information for community events.
