I work in the book business which means I have to read a lot. One book a week on average.
I was that student who spark noted everything and hated reading until no one was telling me to do it.
I still remember that first book I picked up, How to Win Friends and Influence People, which lead to good to great by Jim collins, Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi, and The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris.
My love for reading grew and my whole life became books.
But I’m a slow reader. I like to take my time to digest each page.
I enjoy the process of working my way through a book.
I had heard of speed reading but never took it seriously because I though you’d lose comprehension.
But then I picked up speed reading and it challenged me to look back at the last 10 books I’d read and try to remember what my takeaways were.
I was dumbfounded.
I had just read bird by bird by Anne Lamott and loved it so much I was already recommending it.
But I honestly couldn’t remember what my actual takeaways were.
Kam makes that challenge because speed reading can actually be a way to comprehend books even better while decreasing the time it takes to absorb them.
But I’ll let Kam tell you how.
Kam is the multiple bestselling author of mental performance books.
It’s my pleasure to introduce Kam Knight
