IndyCar Mid-Ohio Winner Pato O'Ward took over the lead late in the race while race leader Alex Palou was in the pits. O'Ward then held off Palou through the final laps to get his first "real" win of the season. His other victory came at St. Pete where he was awarded the win when the driver who crossed the finish line first, Josef Newgarden, was disqualified after the event. IndyCar Drivers Christian Lundgaard and Nolan Siegel were less than enthusiastic about the IndyCar series introducing new hybrid powerplants halfway through the 2024 season. Both drivers were concerned their teams, Rahal Letterman Lanigan and Arrow McLaren didn't get a lot of time testing the new systems beforehand. IndyCar Laguna Seca Winner Alex Palou came into The Freak Nation Sunday night a couple hours after his win at Weathertech Raceway. Palou won the 2021 and 2023 IndyCar championships as well as the $1 Million Challenge at the Thermal Raceway outside Palm Springs. Palou is now a two-time winner on the permanent road course in Monterey. He's finished on the podium in all four of his career starts at the California track. Listen...

This November, 2005 Flashback with NASCAR Legend Tony Stewart was a lot of fun with a driver who's become a longtime Friend of the Freaks. This was before Stewart put his name on a NASCAR team. This 2006 Flashback with Kenny & Brandon Bernstein. The six-time NHRA champion Kenny Bernstein has two in Top Fuel and four consecutive in Funny Car. Bernstein holds the unique distinction of being the first and only race team owner to have collected wins in each of America's three major motorsports series: NHRA, NASCAR and CART. His son Brandon climbed into his Top Fuel car with some success challenging for a title in the NHRA. Brandon is now retired and building racing programs for Lucas Oil Racing. Listen...
