Just a guy doing what I can to promote underground house sounds. I have always been a house-head and I used to spend many weekends watching house djs working at such classic Chicago clubs as Shelter, Red Dog, Medusa’s, Crobar, Neo’s and Smart Bar. I learned how to work the decks after a chance meeting with Chicago DJ Thelonious Funk turned into an offer of free lessons. I soon decided to spend months of highly focused listening to the most classic 70′s/80′s Disco tracks and 80′s House tracks so that I could gain a substantial understanding of the basic elements of House Music: The various samples, instruments, vocals, arrangements, sound efx, drum patterns, keys and drum machines. I began to hear the music in a different way… being able to hear those classic elements used, referenced, echoed, sampled and/or simply hinted at in 90′s House right up to the most modern releases has allowed me to sink into a deeper & more meaningful connection with House Music. That summer I landed my first real gig at Victor Hotel and I have spun at various Chicago clubs, parties and event ever since.

Former guitarist in various Chicago rock bands (Bodhisattva, Octopussy), former owner of Chicago underground rock label Urban Legends Records (The Wesley Willis Fiasco, Trailer Hitch, etc.), previously a writer for various underground punk/rock/alternative music ‘zines.
