Lewis Black was in town and JD took his family to see the the comic legend. 

We start out with some heavy news as we chat the developing situation involving former UFC champion Cain Valesquez and a shooting in San Jose. 

In movie news Christopher Nolan's newest feature film, Oppenheimer, has rounded out casting with the addition of Jason Clarke. Clarke joins Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh among others. 

Legandary Bill Murray has chosen his next acting project and it will be a feature directed by stand up comic Aziz Ansari. 

Its been announced that the cast of Martin is reuniting for a 30th reunion special for BET+. Damn Gina!

And in an update to the Futurerama remake, John DiMaggio has joined the project, ending #BenderGate. 

JD watched the Professional Bull Riding competition, some St. Mary's basketball as well as the Michigan vs. Wisconsin brawl, and Professional Axe Throwing. 

JD also watched a couple documentaries, Bitchin': The Sound and Fury of Rick James, and Hitsville: The Making Of Motown (both available on Amazon)

BNos watched the new Ali Wong comedy special, Don Wong, Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds, and the new Turner + Hooch show on Disney+.

We begin this week talking about the big game, but most importantly, the commercials; which commercials we liked and what movies we are excited to see this year. And what about that half time show?!

We talk about Spiderman's new box office milestone as the 3rd highest grossing domestic movie bumping Avatar from the spot. 

We've got some John Cena news in both movies and TV. Cena is set to star in the new Looney Tunes movie, Coyote vs. Acme. On the TV news side, it was announced his HBOmax series, The Peacemaker is getting a second season. 

BNos is deep in the new Pam and Tommy series on Hulu, and also watched ?uestlove's, Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) that's nominated for best documentary.  

JD watched Mayor of Kingston and 1883 on Paramount.

Oscar nominations were announced this week and the guys go through the notable nominations; which movies we have seen and which are still on our list to see. 

Disney+ has made some big announcements for their new Star Wars series on Obi-Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor. 

Futurama is returning, again as Hulu has ordered new episodes, and most of the original voice cast is returning. 

We've got a winter olympics medal count update; how many gold medals does the USA have so far? And WHO is ROC?!

BNos watched the Bob Odenkirk action flick, Nobody, the Alanis Morissette documentary, Jagged on HBO, and Akaash Sing's new comedy special, Bring Back Apu on YouTube. 

JD had himself a Jack Reacher week as he read, "Killing Floor," the first of the Reacher novels, the new Amazon series, Reacher, and even did a revisit of the Tom Cruise movies, Jack Reacher (2012) amd Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016).

We start out talking about the Andrew Schulz show that we saw over the weekend as well as another comedy show with previous guest Sammy Obeid we popped over to the same night. 

We chat Joe Rogan and Spotify vs. Neil Young and company. A few music artists have removed their music from Spotify, while other music remins on the platform dispite published news stories. 

In TV news, we are both saw the preview for the new 'Joe vs. Carole' Hulu original starring Kate McKinnon as "that bitch," Carole Baskin. This looks wildly entertaining and we are both looking forward to it. 

We discovered that filmaker Roland Emmerich had to re-write the Independence Day: Resurgence script in just two weeks, after Will Smith dropped out in favor of making Suicide Squad in 2016. 

We discuss Amazon's price increase of Prime, and how its largley speculated it is due to bringing NFL games onto the service next season, and the landscape at large with live sports, cable and streaming services. 

Continuing in sports news, JD clears up the confusion with Tom Brady's retirement-not-yet-retired....ok I'll confirm retiring, story that unfolded this week. 

AFC/NFC Playoff games and a breif Super Bowl preview, Caribbean Series Baseball, and JD's review of the recently released All Madden documentary on ESPN+ round out our sports news this week. 

BNos watched the new Netflix true crime doumentary, The Tinder Swindler; a crazy story of tinder swiping, wirlwind romance and fraud. 

BNos also caught the "She's All That" spinoff, "He's All That" staring Addison Rae and Tanner Buchanan from Cobra Kai. 

JD watched Alien Worlds, a docuseries on Netflix, and Square Grouper a documentary from the same filmmaker that made Cocaine Cowboys.

JD caught Netflix's sci-fi show Lost in Space's season 1 which came out in 2018; staring Molly Parker and Parker Posey.

HBO announced the renewal of The Righteous Gemstones for as 3rd season whilst in the middle of airing season 2. 

Emilio Estevez is OUT of the new Might Ducks show after one season and will be replaced by Josh Duhamel in season 2. Weird move for sure. 

JD breaks down the past weekend's NFL playoff games amongst the Bills, Bucs, 49ers, Chiefs and Rams, and previews this upcoming AFC/NFC championship games. 

We recap the big news coming out of UFC 270 aka UFC vs. Ngannou. 

BNos caught the newest Jim Gaffigan comedy special, Comedy Monster as well as the new season of Netflix's The Standup featuring Mark Normand and Brian Simpson. 

JD finally watches the new Matrix Resurrections, True Story with Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes on Netflix, and 1883 with Sam Elliott which is the prequel series to the wildly popular Yellowstone currently staring Kevin Costner.
