Ferrari 275 GTBs, the Manson Family, a Rivian in the desert, and the Porsche 911 GT3 S/T debate. Spike, Zuckerman, and Sam from Seen Through Glass cover Monterey Car Week, vintage classics, and the rise of Chinese automakers in Europe and America. ______________________________________________ 🛠️ RaceDeck - Transform Your Garage Get 15% off plus free shipping with code SPIKE356 https://RaceDeck.com Ⓗ Hagerty - Classic Car Insurance For People Who Love Cars Head to https://hagerty.com/spike to learn more! If you think a 1960s Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is going to feel like a racecar, Sam has news for you. Spike then drops the wildest California history you probably never heard: how Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys let the Manson Family move in, and how two separate Ferrari 275 GTBs got destroyed in the process. One was rolled so badly it was crushed down to the steering wheel before a full restoration brought it back. On the modern side, the group breaks down the Porsche 992.2 GT3 Touring vs the 911 S/T, Andreas Preuninger's steering recalibration after customer feedback, seat choices, and why GT2 RS values keep climbing. They also get into the Fiat Grande Panda as a daily driver, the retro Renault 5 and 4, and how Chinese brands like Jaecoo and BYD are forcing legacy European automakers to lean hard into heritage and history. Also on the docket: left-lane campers getting the punishment they deserve, a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 280 TE with 3,709 km listed at Gooding and Company at Pebble Beach, a Buzzfeed list of the most disgusting things found in men's apartments, and Monterey Car Week plans. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: [email protected] 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Introducing Seen Through Glass 05:20 - Sam driving a Rivian at Joshua Tree 07:43 - Why Angeles Crest is so dangerous 08:47 - Sam driving a pristine Ferrari 275 16:35 - The state of Jonny's Porsche 914 17:42 - The Charles Manson Beach Boys Ferrari 24:30 - Why the Porsche GT3 S/C is so good 34:12 - The Fiat Panda is so underrated 37:03 - Chinese cars dominating every market 41:43 - Driving in Europe vs America 47:36 - Untouched 1979 Mercedes-Benz Wagon 52:54 - The worst things that guys do Learn more about your ad choices. SCR is back with a full Monterey Car Week debrief. Spike and Jonny break down the 987-hp Audi Nuvolari first drive, Zuckerman's surprise auction win on Jerry Seinfeld's 1961 Porsche 356 Super 90 GT, and a $40M electric Ferrari Luce auction sale. Then Eccentrica's Andrea Colombo rolls into the SCR Garage with the sold-out Lamborghini Diablo restomod the world didn't know it needed. ______________________________________________ 🛠️ RaceDeck - Transform Your Garage Get 15% off plus free shipping with code SPIKE356 https://RaceDeck.com 🛞 Vredestein - Car, SUV, Van, and Light Truck Tires Demand a better tire. Jonny drove the all-new Audi Nuvolari, which shares a platform with the Lamborghini Temerario. It puts out 987 hp, wears a full carbon fiber body with real metal grilles, rides on bespoke predictive KW suspension, and starts around $700K. Limited to 499 units worldwide with deliveries starting in Europe in 2027. Jonny's take: "This is like if you sent the Lamborghini Temerario to finishing school." On the collector car market side, the auction house rivalry between Gooding and RM Sotheby's was the subplot nobody planned for. A Shelby Daytona Coupe hammered at $39M at Gooding. RM Sotheby's fired back with the first electric Ferrari (VIN 0000) selling for $40M to a Florida billionaire. Meanwhile, Zuckerman quietly won Jerry Seinfeld's pristine slate gray 1961 Porsche 356 Super 90 GT at auction. The video of Zuckerman bidding is exactly what you'd expect. Monterey Car Week highlights also included: a guy who showed up in a stolen Lamborghini and got arrested, an SCR fan who bought a McMurtry Speirling road car, and a pre-show quarter-panel hit on an ultra-rare aluminum Vignale-bodied Ferrari before judging even started. Brutal. Jonny also runs down every new car debut from The Quail: Lamborghini Revuelto SV, Cadillac V-Series Le Mans hypercar concept, BMW Alpina, Toyota GR GT concept, Czinger Roadster, Aston Martin Valhalla, Ruf Rodeo, Gunther Werks track special, Spyker revival, and Hennessey's manual NA hypercar. The second half belongs to Andrea Colombo, CEO of Eccentrica, who joins with the Eccentrica V12 Coupe prototype in the garage. The car started as a 1991-1994 Lamborghini Diablo and ended up with 3,000 bespoke components, structural chassis reinforcement, a 550 hp tuned V12 with electronic throttle bodies, a custom 6-speed gated manual, Capristo exhaust, full carbon fiber bodywork (250 lbs saved), pop-down headlights, and a retro-futuristic pixel-display interior. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: [email protected] 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Car Week 2026 recap 05:59 - Audi Nuvolari review 10:30 - Spike viewing the Jaguar Type 01 13:16 - Who bought a Ferrari Luce for $40M? 20:12 - Zuckerman nabbing the '61 Porsche 356 22:26 - Man gets busted with stolen Lambo at Car Week 23:17 - McMurtry Spéirling road car 24:56 - Ultrarare Ferrari damaged before judging 26:56 - The true showstoppers at Pebble Beach 31:22 - New cars shown at the Quail 38:25 - Introducing Andreas from Eccentrica 39:33 - How to restomod a Lamborghini Diablo 44:05 - Eccentrica V12 showcase Learn more about your ad choices. Spike, Jonny, and Zuckerman take the stage live at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance for their annual charity show. They break down the biggest reveals from The Quail, dig into collector car market trends, and field Q&A from a crowd that clearly knows too much about cars. ______________________________________________ GRAB SOME SCR MERCH: https://spikescarradio.com GET MORE SCR ON PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/spikescarradio ______________________________________________ Recorded live at Pebble Beach, this one covers a lot of ground. Jonny recaps The Quail, including the manual V8 McLaren MCL6 GT, the 850-horsepower Aston Martin Valiant, the Brabus Bodo, and Gordon Murray Automotive's $8.5 million SV S1. Then there's the Singer x Louis Vuitton collab, which Spike is not thrilled about, versus the Toy Story Porsche 911 GT3 RS at Werks, which actually pulled kids into the hobby. On the collector car market trends front: a pristine 4-cam Porsche 356B Carrera GS/GT hammered at $280,000 (about half its estimate), signaling softening values across vintage classics. Meanwhile, Carroll Shelby's personal 1964 Daytona Cobra Coupe sold for $42 million, the most expensive American car ever at auction. Paul Zuckerman breaks down why that gap exists, and then pivots to legally dissecting a Fish and Wildlife officer who tased a man pumping gas and set him on fire. Common sense, people. The audience Q&A gets into: enthusiast cars under $100k (Toyota MR2 revival, AMG CLA 45 EV, Subaru Solterra), best sedans for airport runs, whether auction buyers are investors or enthusiasts, the PPF debate (Spike says no, Jonny says yes, Zuckerman compares it to plastic sofa covers), first cars for teenagers, and the first brand-new cars each host ever bought. Spike got a Boxster. Zuckerman got a dark blue E39 M5. Nobody made a bad call. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: [email protected] 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Intro for SCR Live! 02:56 - The Quail Highlights: McLaren MCL6 GT, Aston Martin Valiant, GMA SV S1 07:20 - Singer x Louis Vuitton vs. Toy Story GT3 RS 11:10 - 356 Price Drop and the $42M Shelby Daytona Coupe 16:10 - Jaguar EV Prototype, AMG Electric SUV, Porsche Hypercar Debates 29:33 - Rolling Car and Zuckerman on Self-Runover Lawsuits 32:18 - Sub-$100k Cars That Still Excite Enthusiasts 39:00 - Are Auction Buyers Enthusiasts or Investors? 43:03 - The PPF Debate 45:01 - Spike vs. Doug DeMuro 47:24 - Best First Car 50:53 - First Brand-New Cars 53:13 - Does Car Knowledge Kill the Joy of Driving? 55:52 - Live Trivia Giveaway, Sponsors, and Farewell Learn more about your ad choices. Matt Farah recounts a 300-mile Vespa road trip up the California coast, Spike and Jonny go in on BMW's Spider-Man in-car pop-up ads, and Zuckerman stages a legal rescue of Jonny's long-suffering Porsche 914. After, Brabus CEO Constantin Buschmann brings two monsters into the SCR Garage: the 1,000 HP V12 coachbuilt Brabus Bodo and a modified 800 HP open-top G-Wagen. The guys react to a video essay on canyon driving ethics and street racing culture online, and the crew debates whether drivers on modern GT3-level machines on sticky tires on public roads are the actual problem. Matt contrasts all of it with driving his air-cooled Meyers Manx through the canyons while cyclists cheered. Then BMW drops a self-inflicted PR disaster: owners of $160,000 vehicles getting Spider-Man movie trailer pop-ups on their dashboards at startup. The group compares this to Genesis and Kia, who are apparently too busy building great cars to run ads inside them. Spike previews Willow Springs Reimagined on Saturday, October 17th, with B-Sedan races, Porsche Cup, a Petersen Hill Climb, a live Smoking Tire podcast, and vintage motorcycle races. Then the guys tackle the ongoing saga of Jonny Lieberman's disassembled Porsche 914 restoration rescue, with Zuckerman playing legal hardball with the shop. In the second half, Constantin Buschmann joins Spike for a full in-garage interview covering Brabus history since 1977, the Brabus One-Second Wow design philosophy, and the two flagship cars on the floor: the Brabus Bodo (1,000 HP, V12, Aston Martin Vanquish chassis, 77 units, 1.0M to 1.4M euros) and the Brabus 800 Cabriolet G-Wagen (800 HP, open-top AMG G63 with Widestar body kit). _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: [email protected] 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - Introducing Matt Farah 04:39 - Matt's Vespa road trip 08:14 - The RIGHT way to drive in the canyons 18:56 - BMW in-car ad controversy 23:37 - Why luxury car brands are overrated 29:11 - The state of Jonny's Porsche 914 42:00 - Introducing Constantin Buschmann 45:21 - Brabus Bodo showcase 54:15 - Brabus 800 Cab G-Wagen showcase Learn more about your ad choices. The guys tear into Porsche San Luis Obispo's insane used car prices (a 2019 GT2 RS listed at $2.3 million), Jonny delivers a genuinely shocking Subaru Trailseeker EV review, and the crew covers Ford's Le Mans Hypercar, JCB's 406 mph hydrogen land speed record, viral airplane duct-tape chaos, and the ethics of automotive journalism. ______________________________________________ 🛠️ RaceDeck - Transform Your Garage Get 15% off plus free shipping with code SPIKE356 https://RaceDeck.com 🫧 Meguiar's - 125 Years of Passion Premium products to clean, restore, and protect your vehicle https://meguiarsdirect.com/collections/new 🔵 BlueChew - Get Bricked Up with BlueChew Gold Buy 2 months of BlueChew Gold, get the 3rd month for FREE with code SPIKE911. From there, the conversation gets weird fast. Porsche San Luis Obispo is asking $2.3 million for a 2019 GT2 RS because of a Python Green Chromaflair paint option. Is it a flex? Instagram bait? Genuine optimism? Jonny drops the car-of-the-week segment with a full review of the Subaru Trailseeker EV, including specs that nobody expected: 375 hp dual-motor, 4.3-second 0-60, 281 miles of range, 8.5 inches of ground clearance, and a price that undercuts the Rivian R2. It's the Subaru Trailseeker EV review nobody saw coming. On the motorsport front: Jonny praises the Ford Mustang GTD, calling it one of the most remarkable engineering achievements in recent memory. Ford is also track-testing a new car for the Ford Le Mans hypercar 2027 program under Jim Farley's watch. The land speed record gets a full breakdown too. Listener questions cover Zuckerman's one-drive-and-done Porsche, a deep dive into the Porsche 964 cup car and what makes it nearly unlivable on the road, and the Longines Hydroconquest dive watch (yes, they argue about how to say it). The Zuckerman car collection takes another hit when he admits he sold an Audi R8 V10 Spyder after a single drive. The episode wraps with the multi-year nightmare of trying to register a California vanity plate for a Zagato. _____________________________________________ 📧 To advertise with Spike’s Car Radio, contact Neon Tiger Media: [email protected] 🌐 or visit: https://scrpod.com/sponsor Produced by Skyview Entertainment & Q6 Media https://q6.media ______________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 - LA cannot handle the rain 03:55 - Porsche dealership selling 911s for millions 09:55 - Apple's new CEO races Porsches? 11:04 - Ford's new hypercar 20:38 - Subaru Trailseeker review 29:17 - Is this the future of car power? 36:03 - The colorful characters of LA 38:47 - Man gets ducktaped to plane seat 44:24 - Immediate regret car purchases 45:50 - Real car journalism 51:16 - Watches 52:48 - 1992 Porsche 964 cup car Learn more about your ad choices.
