There’s something I hear all the time from spiritual entrepreneurs: “I’m showing up. I’m creating content. I’m talking about my work. So why aren’t I getting clients?”
It’s such a frustrating place to be in. You know you have something valuable to offer. You know your spiritual gifts can genuinely help people. You’re putting yourself out there, but somehow the visibility isn’t translating into the conversations and clients you actually need to build a sustainable spiritual business.
That was one of the reasons I was so excited to have Jill Hart join me for this episode of Sacred & Sassy. Jill is a business coach and visibility strategist, and she’s also the host of the You World Order Showcase podcast, which has generated more than 1.1 million downloads and featured more than 600 guest interviews.
But what I particularly love about Jill is that she doesn’t get caught up in the impressive numbers. When I mentioned the 1.1 million downloads and 600-plus interviews, she immediately brought it back to the humans behind those numbers.
For Jill, those 600 interviews aren’t really about having interviewed 600 people. They represent 600 conversations with human beings she has had the opportunity to connect with and, in some way, help.
And I think that distinction is really important for those of us building businesses in the spiritual space.
Because we can get very distracted by the numbers. How many followers do I have? How many people watched my video? How many subscribers do I have? How many people are reading my posts?
But visibility and client acquisition are not necessarily the same thing.

You can be visible and still have nowhere to take people
One of the biggest ideas Jill shared during our conversation was incredibly simple: your visibility needs somewhere to go.
She talks about creating what she calls a “straight line” from stranger to client. And honestly, I love how uncomplicated she makes this.
Jill’s advice is to literally take a pen and piece of paper and draw a line. On one side, you have the person you want to help and the problem they are experiencing. On the other side, you have the result they want. Then, along the line, you map out the smaller problems or steps that need to happen to get them from where they are now to where they want to be.
It sounds simple because it is. But for spiritual entrepreneurs, simple can be surprisingly difficult.
We have a tendency to make our businesses very complicated because there is so much we can do. We might be a healer and a coach and a medium. We might work with tarot, Akashic Records, energy healing, ancestral work or a whole collection of modalities. We might have completed several certifications and have years of experience behind us.
And because all of that is important to us, we can end up trying to explain all of it to our potential clients.
Jill’s approach turns that around. Instead of leading with everything you know and every modality you use, start with the problem you actually solve.
She gave the example of a coach working with postmenopausal women. A woman in that stage of life may not be walking around thinking, “I need a postmenopausal coach.”
She might be thinking, “Why am I waking up sweating all night? Why can’t I sleep? Why have I suddenly got no energy? What am I supposed to eat? Is this ever going to end?”
That is the language of the problem. And when you understand that language, you can start having a completely different conversation with the people you want to help.
Your client probably doesn’t care about your toolbox
This was another part of our conversation that really struck me, particularly because spiritual entrepreneurs can get so attached to the beautiful language of our work.
We talk about transformation, healing, alignment, embodiment, sacred feminine energy and spiritual awakening. None of those things are necessarily wrong. In fact, they may be at the very heart of what we do. But Jill made an excellent point: your client doesn’t necessarily care how you get the result.
She used a plumber as an analogy, and it’s one I think about quite differently now.
If you have a leaking pipe under your kitchen sink, you don’t really need the plumber to stand there explaining every tool in his toolbox before he starts work. You want him to look at the problem, tell you whether he can fix it, tell you what it will cost and then get on with fixing it.
As Jill put it, spiritual entrepreneurs have a whole bag of tools, but we don’t necessarily need to show the client the entire bag.
The client wants to know, “Can you help me with this?”
That doesn’t mean your modalities aren’t valuable. They absolutely can be. But they are part of how you deliver the result. They don’t always need to be the headline. And I think this is particularly relevant for multi-passionate spiritual entrepreneurs, because being multi-passionate isn’t necessarily the problem.
Jill has spoken with hundreds of coaches and sees this pattern regularly. Spiritual entrepreneurs often have all these different things they can do, but they haven’t necessarily pulled them together around one clear problem and one clear result. The solution isn’t necessarily to throw half of your gifts away. It might simply be to connect the dots.
The language your client uses matters
This is where the conversation got particularly interesting for me because Jill and I had actually talked about this before the interview. Spiritual entrepreneurs can become trapped in our own language. We know what our work means to us, so we naturally describe it from our perspective.
But marketing becomes much easier when we can step into the world of the person we’re trying to help and listen to the way they describe their problem. If your potential client is saying, “I feel completely lost since my children left home,” that’s a different conversation from saying, “I help women through a transformational journey of soul-aligned reinvention.”
Maybe the second statement is technically accurate. But the first one is something your potential client may immediately recognise as their life. And recognition is powerful. It makes someone stop and think, “Oh. She’s talking about me.” That’s the kind of connection we want our content to create.
Selling doesn’t have to feel like selling
We also talked about something that I know many spiritual entrepreneurs struggle with: selling.
There can be a real resistance to sales in the spiritual business world. We don’t want to push people. We don’t want to manipulate anyone. We don’t want to make someone feel pressured into buying something they don’t need. Jill’s approach is much more about invitation.
She went back to the plumber analogy again. If someone comes to you with a problem, you can have a conversation about that problem. You can explain what you believe the solution is and what it costs. Then you can let the person decide.
They might say yes. They might say no. They might say it’s outside their budget.
And that’s okay.
One of Jill’s comments really stayed with me: “That’s an us problem, not a client problem.”
In other words, we don’t have to make somebody else’s decision mean something about our worth.
And I think that’s a really important distinction for spiritual entrepreneurs. We can offer. We can invite. We can explain. We can make it easy for someone to work with us.
But we don’t have to convince.
You don’t need an influencer-sized audience
Another myth Jill challenged during our conversation was the idea that you need a huge audience to build a successful spiritual business.
Her own podcast numbers are impressive, but she doesn’t see them as the goal. She sees the conversations. The relationships. The people she has helped.
And that is a very different way of looking at visibility.
You don’t necessarily need thousands upon thousands of followers. You need the right people to understand what you do, recognise the problem you solve and have somewhere to go next.
That might be a free resource. It might be a small paid offer. It might be a conversation. It might be a workshop or a coaching session. And, eventually, it might be your bigger program or high-ticket offer. This is where Jill’s “straight line” becomes so useful.
Instead of having one enormous offer sitting at the end of a pile of disconnected social media posts, you create a client journey. There are different dots along the line, and each dot solves a particular problem.
Not everything has to be free, and not everything has to cost a fortune. As Jill says, give people options.
Why Jill loves Substack
Of course, we couldn’t have this conversation without talking about Substack.
Jill is a big advocate for the platform, and I can understand why. I’ve only been on Substack for a couple of months myself, and one of the things I love about it is that it feels like a content hub rather than another place where I have to constantly perform for an algorithm.
You can write. You can publish video. You can share audio. You can go live. You can create a podcast. You can build relationships and community around your content.
And Jill particularly loves the way Substack allows people to support one another.
She talked about the community she’s built through Client Acquisition for Coaches and how people share each other’s work, comment, go live together and introduce one another to new audiences.
That’s very different from simply shouting, “Hey, look at me!” into the internet. It’s people saying, “Hey, come and look at what this person is doing.” And perhaps that’s part of the bigger lesson here. Visibility doesn’t have to mean constantly trying to get more attention. It can mean becoming known by the right people.
So what should you do this week?
I asked Jill a very practical question towards the end of our conversation: if someone is a healer, spiritual coach or practitioner who has been showing up but isn’t getting clients, what is the one thing they should do this week?
Her answer was simple. Get a pen and paper and draw the line.
And I loved that she even suggested lighting a candle and drawing a card or two if that feels right for you. Because this doesn’t have to become another sterile business exercise where you leave your spirituality at the door.
Bring your own practices into it. But, as Jill says, “let it be human.”
On one side of the line, write down who you help and the problems they’re actually experiencing. Use their language, not your industry language.
On the other side, write down what life looks like when that problem has been solved. Then start filling in the dots.
What do they need to know first? What small problem can you help them solve? What could they buy from you at that stage? What’s the next problem? What’s the next offer? And ultimately, where does the whole journey lead?
You may discover that you don’t actually have a visibility problem.
You might have a client journey problem.
And that’s a very different thing to fix.
Because once you know where you’re taking people, your content becomes clearer. Your offers become clearer. Your marketing conversations become easier. And perhaps most importantly, you stop feeling as though you have to convince the entire internet that you’re worth paying attention to.
You simply start talking to the people who have the problem you know how to solve.
And that, to me, feels like a much more sacred — and a whole lot sassier — way to build a spiritual business.
Where to connect with Jill
SKOOL: Client Acquisition for Coaches community

You get the download. The nudge from spirit, the inspiration that feels unmistakably right. So you build the offer, you put it out into the world, and you wait for it to land the way it felt like it would.
Then it doesn’t. And here’s where the real mistake happens — not in the offer, but in what you do next.
The Pattern I See Over and Over
You start questioning everything. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to change? What am I missing? You take that question straight back to spirit, back to your guides, and you wait for them to tell you what to fix.
I get why. As spiritual women, we’re wired to listen for guidance first. But here’s what I’ve noticed, both in my own business and in the women I support inside our community: this creates a loop. You get inspired, you act, it wobbles, you question, you shift, you get inspired again — round and round.
Your personal growth gets built inside that loop. Your business growth doesn’t.
Two Different Jobs Being Confused
Here’s the distinction that changes everything: the guidance you’re getting from spirit is often there to grow you — your soul, your spiritual pathway, your personal expansion. That’s not the same job as growing your business.
When we treat every wobble in the business as a sign we’ve misread our guidance, we’re outsourcing our authority. We hand spirit a job it was never meant to do — run our strategy — and then blame ourselves when the business side doesn’t shift on its own.
Your guidance gave you the idea. Growing it into an actual business is your job.

The Reframe: Choose It, Then Commit
So here’s what I want you to try instead. Once you’ve got the idea — the offer, the way you’re meant to serve — stop asking spirit to keep confirming it every time it gets hard.
Instead, say this: this is what I want to do. There is joy in my heart when it comes to this. I feel like it’s what I’m meant to do, and I’m doing it — no matter what.
Then commit to it like a dog with a bone. Not questioning it every time it doesn’t move as fast as you’d hoped. Just showing up for it, again and again, because you’ve already decided.
That’s the mindset shift that actually creates momentum. Not more guidance. More commitment to the guidance you’ve already received.
Why This Works
When you stop questioning the idea itself and start showing up for it consistently, you give the universe something solid to actually support. Wavering sends a mixed signal. Commitment gives it a clear structure to work with.
That’s when you start to see the pathway forward. That’s when momentum kicks in — not because the guidance changed, but because you stopped abandoning it every time it got uncomfortable.
You Don’t Have to Build This Alone
If you’re in the middle of this exact loop right now — questioning a pivot, wondering if you’ve misread your guidance, tired of second-guessing every wobble — I want you to know that’s such a normal place to land. It doesn’t mean you got it wrong.
Come join us inside the Sacred & Sassy Collective. It’s free to join, with upgrade paths if you want deeper support, and it means you’re no longer figuring this out solo. I’ll hold you to backing yourself and sticking with what you know is true — and the more of us in there supporting each other, the easier it gets for all of us to be seen and to build real momentum.
Where are you questioning your guidance right now, when maybe what you actually need is to commit harder to it? Tell me in the comments — I’d love to know what’s coming up for you.

This Substack is the rebuild of inSpirit Magazine and the vision I’ve been carrying for years: a place for the conversations the spiritual industry isn’t having out loud. I’ve interviewed some of the biggest names in the spiritual world — John Edward, Tony Stockwell, John Holland, Sonia Choquette, Peggy McColl — with a vision of building something like a Hay House for Australia.
Along the way, I got tired of watching spiritual women show up, serve, and not make the income they deserve.
If you’re a soulpreneur trying to build something honest — this is your spot. Because your gifts deserve to change lives, including yours.
Spirit gave me a reframe this month — and it’s simpler than any money mindset course you’ve ever paid for
If you’ve been white-knuckling your way through your business goals, forcing yourself to “do the work” while secretly wondering why the money still isn’t flowing the way your gifts deserve — this one’s for you.
I’ve spent 25 years as a psychic medium and soul coach, and I still get surprised by how spirit shows up. Last night, as I was drifting off to sleep, I got very clearly nudged toward a reframe. Not a full pivot. Just a refocus. And when I woke up, it was confirmed: this month’s Cosmic Current needed to centre on money.
Here’s why that matters. Money and joy aren’t separate conversations. They’re the same conversation.
Why Money Mindset Coaches Make This So Much Harder Than It Needs to Be
Joy is the vibration that creates harmony. Harmony creates peace. And it’s from that peaceful, high-vibe place that we actually have the capacity to manifest — money included.
The manifesting coaches and money mindset coaches love to complicate this. Layers of belief work, tracking sheets, affirmation scripts. And look, some of that has its place. But underneath all of it is something much simpler: how are you receiving joy today?
That question is the whole practice. I’ve been asking myself it every morning for the last five days as part of what I’m calling my Joygasm Project — hand over heart, first thing, before anything else. Some days the answer is small. Today it was showing up to do this livestream, because that’s what spirit was guiding me toward.
If you’re in a job or a business rhythm that isn’t giving you joy right now, this is your invitation to ask the question anyway. The answer might eventually point you somewhere new. But it starts with asking.
From Shifting Sand to Solid Ground
July had a real “dusting off your coat” energy to it, didn’t it? New projects pulled out of the cupboard. Pivots. That sense of standing on shifting sand while you figured out what needed refocusing.
August is different. We’re moving onto solid ground — and the invitation is to trust it. Trust that you’re guiding yourself forward from intuition, from your connection to the divine, and that this is simply how your purpose needs to express itself right now.
That solid ground is the foundation everything else this month gets built on.

Your Week-by-Week Money Flow for August
I pulled these cards from the Whispers of Lord Ganesha deck by Angela Hartfield — one of my favourites, and one that’s followed me since I first discovered it on a trip to Bali.
Week One: Concentration — Where Is Your Ego Holding You Back?
There’s a lot of planning energy here around your money flow and what you’re doing in your business to create it. But watch for the small stuff getting in the way — specifically, your ego.
Not ego in the arrogant sense. Ego as in humbleness and doubt. Ask yourself honestly: where is your humility actually working against you this week? Where are you holding back when you could be stepping forward?
Week Two: Splendour (Reversed) — Open Yourself to Magnificence
This card landed in reverse, which tells me there’s a block here. The invitation is to ask a question most of us skip entirely when we’re chasing a goal: how magnificent can this actually be?
We set the goal, we do the doing, and we forget to ask how magical the process — and the outcome — could feel. There’s also a thread of recognition here: being seen and understood for the work you’re doing, in a new way. Because it’s reversed, expect this week to feel a little quieter. That’s not a problem to fix. It’s simply where the work is.
Week Three: Empowerment — You Are the Case Study
Solar plexus energy, and a strong sense of “the pathway is unfolding exactly as it needs to.” New levels of empowerment come in here, rooted in your connection to self.
If you’re a soulpreneur who serves others, remember: you are the example. People are watching how you live and lead, and that’s genuinely part of your attraction point. Settle into being seen that way.
Week Four: Wholeness — This Is Where Momentum Begins
Heart chakra energy — the same green that shows up in the Healer Wealthcode. This feels like the most significant week of the month, because it’s the point everything else has been building toward. This is where the real momentum starts. Where you begin to see actual shifts in your money flow.
If you’ve got new goals, a new offer, or new focus taking shape, this is the week it starts to click into place.
The Honest Money Flow Forecast
Expect some fluctuation this month — a bit of an up-and-down, particularly through week two if you haven’t yet opened yourself to that sense of splendour and magnificence. The structure to fully receive the flow of energy, joy, and money isn’t quite there yet at the start of the month. But it will be, by the second half of August.
Don’t let your humbleness hold you back. Don’t let your doubt hold you back.
That’s the line I keep coming back to from this reading, and it’s worth sitting with all month.
Come Do This With Me
I’m sharing my Joygasm Project daily — asking that one question, every morning, and following where it leads. I’d genuinely love for you to join me inside the Sacred & Sassy Soulpreneur Rising community on Skool, where we’re exploring this together each day.
And if any part of this reading landed for you — if you felt that reversed Splendour card in your bones, or you know exactly where your ego’s been holding you back — a Mystic Medicine Session is a beautiful space to work through it one-on-one, for anything you want to manifest this month.
I’d love to know: which week’s energy is hitting hardest for you right now? Drop it in the comments — I read every single one.

If you’re a soulpreneur trying to build something honest — this is your spot. Because your gifts deserve to change lives, including yours.
Let me say the thing out loud that I know a lot of you are thinking but haven’t quite given yourself permission to say yet.
You’ve done the courses. You’ve followed the system. You’ve ticked the boxes on the 60-point list that promised you’d be a millionaire if you just followed it exactly.
And you’re still here. Wondering what you’re doing wrong.
Here’s what Faith Christiansen — bestselling author, business strategist and founder of the Business Builders Society — said to me this week that I want you to really hear:
“The honest ones will tell you they have no idea how they got there. They literally just experimented and something worked and they kept doing it.”
The gurus sold you a system. What they actually did was experiment their way to the top.
That’s not a small distinction. That’s everything.
The 60-Point List Problem
Faith has worked with solopreneurs for years and she sees the same pattern repeatedly — people investing in course after course, list after list, only to find themselves more overwhelmed and less consistent than before they started.
“The simpler it is to execute, the more likely you are to execute. And when you actually execute and can continue to execute because you’re not overwhelmed with a 60-point list — guess what happens?”
The answer isn’t more strategy. It isn’t a better funnel or a bigger list or a more compelling offer.
It’s execution. Consistent, sustainable, simple execution.
And you can only sustain what you actually enjoy.
This landed hard for me personally. I’ve spent years pushing myself through strategies and platforms that felt completely out of alignment — not because I was lazy or uncommitted, but because I was trying to follow someone else’s system in a body and a soul that needed something different.

The Anti-Guru Truth About Testing
So if there’s no one system, no one way — how do you actually find what works?
You test. In Faith’s world, that means committing to a minimum number of repetitions before you decide something works or doesn’t. Thirty days. Ninety days. Enough time to get real data rather than a knee-jerk reaction.
She shared her own example — she tested premiering her YouTube videos live at a set time every week. Her average view time jumped from two to three minutes to eight to ten minutes. It worked beautifully. She also hated every second of the four hours of editing required to make it happen.
So she quit. Deliberately. With data. And found a new path.
“It’s not that serious. It’s not a failure. It’s all wins and learns.”
For soulpreneurs — and I include myself absolutely in this — we have a tendency to either follow guidance and ignore data entirely, or get so lost in data that we lose our inner voice. Faith’s framework offers a third way. Test it. Feel it. Then decide.
You Don’t Own Your Audience. Here’s What You Do Own.
This is the piece of the conversation I want every soulpreneur who has spent years building on social media to hear.
Every follower on Instagram, every connection on Facebook — you’re renting that relationship. The platform owns the infrastructure. You have no guarantee of access tomorrow. Faith mentioned a client who had over 13,000 followers and a 10,000-person email list. When her accounts were hacked and everything was lost, only 300 people followed her to start again.
300 out of 13,000.
That’s not a rare horror story. That’s an industry-wide reality that most of us haven’t fully reckoned with.
“We are renting. And we’re renting for an indiscriminate amount of time.”
So what do you own? What can you take with you regardless of what any platform decides to do?
Your email list — when it’s truly yours and not trapped inside a platform that controls access to it. Your content in formats you can move and repurpose. Your relationships — the ones with actual depth, not just follower numbers. And increasingly, your AI tools — Faith uses Claude as her backup, downloading assets, creating portable files, building things she can move if she needs to.
This is why Substack feels so different from other platforms. When someone subscribes here, I get their email address. That’s an owned relationship in a way that Instagram followers simply aren’t.
Relationships Outlast Every Platform
This is the thread that ran through the entire conversation and the one I keep coming back to.
Most business coaching tells you to scale, automate, funnel. Get more eyeballs. More followers. More reach.
But Faith’s question is — what’s the depth behind the width?
“You can have more followers. But if you don’t have a relationship with any of those people, they’re not going to follow you and they’re not going to buy from you.”
Her framework isn’t about cold outreach or pitch slapping people in the DMs. It’s about genuine curiosity. Engaging with someone’s post. Sharing something of theirs with a real comment. Building the kind of connection that makes someone think of you when a friend mentions they need exactly what you offer.
“I have a person on Instagram who needs me like crazy. But I know she’s not ready. I’ve never sold to her. She’s purchased a couple of things. She’s referred me to clients that ended up high ticket.”
That’s relationship-first selling. And it’s not a strategy — it’s a way of being in business that happens to generate results.
For soulpreneurs, this is our natural home. We’ve always known that the work sells itself when the relationship is right. The mistake we’ve been making is letting the platforms convince us to abandon that knowing in favour of their algorithm.
Leading Yourself on the Hard Days
This was the piece of the conversation I wasn’t expecting to move me as much as it did.
Faith talked about what she calls a mind movie — a short video you create of yourself in the future you’re building toward, set to music that emotionally connects you to your why. Not a vision board you stop seeing after two weeks. Not an affirmation you can’t make yourself believe. An actual immersive experience you can access in seconds on a hard day.
“All of our goals at the end of the day are about an emotion that we want to feel. And if we can feel that emotion before it happens as if it’s already done — we connect to it and we move the timeline of it coming to us a lot faster.”
That’s not just business strategy. That’s manifestation intelligence. And it’s precisely the kind of thing that soulpreneurs understand at a soul level but often fail to apply practically to their business journey.
On the hard days — when someone’s been unkind on your post, when the episode didn’t get the views you hoped, when the launch was quiet — you need something that pulls you back to your why in 60 seconds. Not a 20-minute meditation you can’t sustain. Something real and immediate and emotionally true.
The One Thing to Do Differently This Week
If you’ve been following someone else’s system and it’s not working — Faith’s advice is simple.
Sit down with a pen and paper and honestly assess what you’re actually doing versus what you think you’re doing. Is the thing not working because the strategy is wrong, or because you’re not fully executing it? Do you actually enjoy it enough to sustain it? Have you given it enough repetitions to know?
And if the honest answer is that you don’t love it — test something else. Without drama. Without calling it failure.
“It’s all wins and learns.”
One more thing she said that I want to leave you with — about pricing, about confidence, about where to start:
“You do not have to charge high ticket prices if you don’t have the confidence to charge high ticket prices. Start with something that feels comfortable. A little bit of a stretch — but not a hurl.”
That landed for a lot of reasons I won’t go into here. But if it landed for you too — you know what to do.

If you’re a soulpreneur trying to build something honest — this is your spot. Because your gifts deserve to change lives, including yours.
I sat down recently as a guest on the You World Order Showcase Podcast with host Jill Hart — watch the full episode here 👆 — and we got into something I don’t think I’ve said this plainly before, even to my own community.
There’s a missing half to the spiritual story most of us have been taught. And once you see it, you understand exactly why so many intuitive women are exhausted, second-guessing themselves, and doing everything “right” — while their income still doesn’t reflect the depth of what they carry.
The Question I Ask Before I Even Get Out of Bed
Jill asked me what the single biggest thing is that any of us can do to shift how things are going. My answer is something I've taught for years now — because it's still the simplest, most direct practice I know.
Every morning, before I move, I put my hand over my heart and ask one question: “How does Spirit need to move through me today?”
Then I just go with the first thought, feeling or impression that comes. Some mornings it’s instant. Some mornings it takes a minute to land.
Over years of doing this, it’s built something I didn’t expect: a direct, ongoing dialogue with my higher self. It’s the simplest practice I have — and it’s the one I’d hand to anyone first.
The Half of the Story Nobody Teaches
Here’s the piece I unpacked with Jill that I think matters most.
We’ve all heard the phrase “we are spiritual beings having a human experience.” But most of us were taught to work it from the human side — trying to reach up toward the spirit world, raise our vibration, work our way toward connection.
What if that’s backwards?
I’ve come to understand it differently: we are spirit first. Not something to reach for — something we already are, already connected to, already whole in. When I stopped trying to raise my vibration to “get to” the spirit world and started operating from the fact that I already am spirit, everything shifted. That’s the missing half.
“You’re already healed. You’re already whole. It’s our human circumstances that create the fractures — but if you come back to the fact that you’re spirit first, you heal through joy, not struggle.”
This isn’t semantics. It changes how you build a business, too.
Why So Many Psychic & Mediumship Businesses Feel the Same
One thing I said to Jill that I want to say again here: most of us in this industry are doing the same thing. Readings. Workshops. A sea of sameness.
That’s not a failure of effort. It’s because most of us have been taught to practice mediumship — but not to live it.
When you actually connect with the spirit you are (not just your human personality — your hobbies, your routines, your “who am I” as a person), a different purpose sits underneath your gifts. And that purpose is almost always rooted in your own life journey.
I lost my brother to suicide in my mid-20s. That loss was the catalyst for my entire spiritual awakening. It’s part of why I say to people now: however you’re meant to help others is usually something you had to survive first. You are the case study for your own work.
The Tool I Built From This
This is where the Sacred & Sassy Wealthcode® AI Experience came from. It’s built around 10 archetypes I identified — each one showing a different way someone’s soul is wired to bring their gifts into the world, and the specific blocks that come with it.
For example:
* The Healer archetype (mine) tends to over-give and undercharge
* The Devoted archetype holds everyone else up, often at their own expense
* The Architect archetype builds safety through foundations — savings, structure — sometimes from fear rather than flow
Understanding which one you are isn’t a label — it’s permission. It shows you where your abundance is actually blocked, and what your soul specifically came here to do about it.

If You’ve Felt Stuck for Years
I said this to Jill and I’ll say it again here: if you’ve felt stuck for the last 5, 10, 15 years — that’s not a sign something’s wrong with you. It’s a sign the conversation needs to shift.
Not “how do I heal myself” one more time. But “how do I turn what I’ve lived through into something that serves others” — because that shift is exactly where your point of difference lives.

Let’s start with the thing nobody in the spiritual business space wants to say out loud.
Most of us are hiding.
Not because we don’t believe in our work. Not because we don’t know our gifts are real. But because somewhere between the fear of judgment, the noise of every platform telling us to do more, post more, show up more — we quietly retreated into doing the work without being seen doing it.
And then we wonder why the business isn’t growing.
This month on Spill the Mystic Tea I sat down with Sarah Cassim — award-winning business strategist, PR expert, founder of Hawkesbury Women in Business, and one of the most practically brilliant minds I know when it comes to visibility — to have the conversation most spiritual business coaches aren’t having.
Because here’s what I’ve come to understand after nearly 30 years in this space:
Visibility for soulpreneurs is not just a confidence problem. It’s not just a strategy problem. It’s not just a tech problem.
It’s all three. And most people are only addressing one at a time.

The Real Reason You’re Not Visible
Sarah’s answer to why entrepreneurs stay invisible stopped me in my tracks — not because it was surprising, but because it was so precisely right.
“It’s a big confidence problem. We have a lot of barriers when it comes to actually owning what we feel and what we think and those opinions that we hold and the stories that we actually have throughout our lives.”
Everyone has a story. Everyone has a point of view. Everyone has a way of putting magic into this world.
And most people are sitting behind it because they’re worried about what other people think.
For soulpreneurs, that hits differently. Because the fear isn’t just of judgment — it’s of persecution. The witch wound is real. The ancestral memory of what happened when women like us showed up fully and publicly is woven into the nervous system at a cellular level. That’s not a mindset problem. That’s not something a visibility strategy alone is going to fix.
But — and this is important — the energetic piece and the practical piece both have to be addressed. The soul-level shift creates the capacity. The strategy gives it somewhere to land.
This is why I do what I do in the Mystic Medicine Session and why I also have guests like Sarah on this show. Both are needed.
You Are Your Unique Selling Proposition
One of the most powerful things Sarah said in our conversation was this — and I want you to sit with it:
“Lean into who you are as a human. Lean into who you are and the stories that you have to share. Really work on your messaging around your actual human experience — because that is your unique selling proposition.”
In a sea of sameness — and believe me, after nearly 30 years in the spiritual space I know exactly how same it can look — it is your journey that makes you different. Not your modality. Not your certifications. Not even your gifts specifically.
Your story.
The messy, non-linear, “I’ve been on my knees telling the angels to f off” version of your journey is what connects you to the person who needs you. Because they’re in a version of that story right now and they need to see someone who came through it.
This is what I’ve only recently become truly comfortable sharing publicly. And Sarah was right when she said — the lessons you can share with people will potentially save them years of trial and error. That is service. That is visibility in its most useful form.
PR Without a Budget — Yes, Really
Here’s where Sarah busted a myth I know a lot of soulpreneurs carry:
PR doesn’t require a big budget. It doesn’t require a media agency. It doesn’t require anything except about 15 minutes a week and a willingness to pitch.
A platform like Source Bottle — a website where journalists post story requests and you can pitch your expertise — is free or around five dollars a month for premium access. Sarah’s worked with it for years. I actually used it back in 2012 and landed an article in Take Five Magazine with the pitch “I healed a serial killer.” A journalist’s dream headline if there ever was one.
The point is — there are journalists actively looking for experts in your field right now. They need stories. You have stories. The gap between those two things is just the willingness to show up and pitch.
Backlinks from articles and media mentions also do something else quietly powerful — they build your authority in the eyes of search engines and increasingly in the eyes of AI tools. Which brings us to the piece of this conversation that genuinely surprised even me.
The Visibility Frontier Nobody Is Talking About — GEO and AEO
I’ll be honest — when Sarah mentioned GEO and AEO I had to ask her to explain. I’m a power user of ChatGPT and Claude and it hadn’t even occurred to me to think about how those platforms find and recommend practitioners like us.
Here’s the short version:
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is how Google ranks your website and finds you in traditional search. Most of us have at least heard of this even if we haven’t fully implemented it.
GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) are the new layer — how AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity find and recommend you when someone types “I need a psychic medium in Sydney” or “find me a spiritual business coach.”
If you’re not optimised for these platforms, you’re invisible to a growing number of people who are searching for exactly what you offer — just not on Google anymore.
And here’s Sarah’s practical tip that you can do this week for free:
Set up a Bing Business Profile.
Yes, Bing. Because ChatGPT pulls a significant amount of its information from Bing’s index. You can transfer your Google Business Profile across in about five minutes. It doesn’t require technical expertise. And it immediately improves your chances of being found when someone searches for you through AI.
Sarah has put together a free checklist on exactly what to do to optimise for GEO and AEO — link in the show notes below.
Why Local and Face to Face Still Matters More Than Ever
In a world increasingly obsessed with online reach, Sarah made the case for something I believe in deeply as a soulpreneur — local community and face to face connection.
Sarah founded Hawkesbury Women in Business, a community that now has over 2,200 members. And what she’s observed is this:
“Personal relationships will never be replaced. If anything they’re going to strengthen because we are so entwined in AI. We are going to be forced — as human beings, with how we are literally wired — to need human connection.”
For soulpreneurs this is even more true. When someone comes to a healer, a psychic, a soul coach — they are coming at a vulnerable moment. They need to trust you before they invest in you. That trust builds face to face faster than any algorithm can replicate.
Word of mouth. Local networking. Showing up in your community as a person, not a brand. These are not outdated strategies — they are the strategies that work best for the way soulpreneurs are wired and the way their ideal clients make decisions.
I found Sarah through Hawkesbury Women in Business when I moved to the area during COVID. I showed up wanting to be part of something, not to sell. And that is still the energy that serves best in any room — virtual or physical.
What the Business Coaching World Isn’t Saying
I asked Sarah the Spill the Mystic Tea question — what is the business coaching world not saying out loud about visibility?
Her answer was direct and refreshing:
They’re not humanising it enough. There’s not enough emphasis on the messaging — on getting genuinely clear about what you stand for, what your three core talking points are, and staying in your lane with those consistently enough that people actually remember you for them.
“If you start talking about something completely left field it’s going to dilute the visibility you actually have.”
This one landed for me personally. I’ve spent years in this business knowing I’m about spirituality and mediumship and soul — but not always doubling down clearly enough on exactly what that means and who it’s for. The result is that my message has sometimes felt scattered even when the work itself has been clear.
Your genius zone is specific. Your messaging needs to be specific. And the more specific you are, the more visible you become to exactly the right people — not everyone, the right ones.
Your First Step This Week
If you’ve been hiding — Sarah’s advice is not just “go out and do it.” That would be irresponsible without knowing where you actually are.
Start with your messaging. Get clear on your three talking points. Understand what it is you’re actually saying before you scale how loudly you’re saying it.
Then — set up that Bing Business Profile. Five minutes. Free. Do it this week.
And if the hiding goes deeper than messaging — if it’s in the body, in the nervous system, in the soul — that’s where I come in.
The Mystic Medicine Session goes directly into your creative dimension and addresses what’s blocking your visibility at the energetic level that strategy alone can’t reach. 60 minutes. One intention. Spirit determines the medicine.

Join us for Visibility Month:
Visibility is a necessity in any business — but as soulpreneurs, we’re not just trying to “show up more.” We’re trying to show up in a way that actually sits well in our soul.
This isn’t another strategy challenge. You won’t find a content planner here, and we’re not chasing confidence-on-camera tricks. This is about something deeper: understanding why visibility feels hard for you specifically, and finding the version of being seen that works with your nervous system and your energy — not against it.

I didn’t come to this episode with a hook.
No marketing angle, no clever opener, no strategic line designed to stop your scroll. Just me, a cup of peppermint tea, and twenty-five years of walking this path trying to figure out how to say what I’m about to say.
So I’m going to say it the way I said it on the podcast — plainly, and without performing it.
There have been plenty of times I’ve been on my knees telling the angels to f off.
Not because I don’t believe. Because I was exhausted. Because I kept hearing the same message — you’re a healer — so many times that I stopped being able to receive it. It became noise. White noise from Spirit, if that’s even a thing. I’d hear it and think, yeah, I know, you keep telling me, and clearly I’m still not getting it.
It was only last month that I finally stopped and said — okay. One more time. Let’s actually take a breath and get this.
And in that moment, something shifted. Sacred & Sassy Soulpreneur was born.
This is not my first rodeo
About fifteen to eighteen years ago I ran inSpirit Magazine, alongside the Australian College of Mediumship. We interviewed people who were genuine inspirations to all of us in this space — John Edward, Tony Stockwell, David Wells, John Holland, Sonia Choquette, Peggy McColl.
We had so much fun with that magazine.
But if I’m honest with you — it did more to build confidence in the writers on my team than it ever did to grow readership. Eventually it became a drag on my wallet and a drag on my soul. So I let it go.
Spirit never let it go though. Every few years there’d be a knock on that door again, and every time I’d resist — because I’d become hyper aware of the workload, the return on investment, the cost to my nervous system of building something that drained more than it gave.
I don’t follow ideas with blind faith anymore. I question things now. I’m in partnership with Spirit, not just taking instruction from it. And in my own roundabout way, I kept saying — it needs to be the right set of circumstances.
Then I discovered Substack.
And the peace that came with it genuinely surprised me.
Why this exists
Here’s the gap I see in business coaching for people like us.
Most of what’s out there is mindset and strategy. And if you’re someone who operates from a deep soul-level place — which I imagine you are, if you’re here — mindset and strategy alone were never going to be enough. It’s rare to find a business coach who actually factors in the soul piece. Who understands that the practicalities of running a business matter exactly as much as the spiritual reality underneath them.
That’s what Sacred & Sassy Soulpreneur is. Soul meets strategy. The witch wound and the content calendar. The fear of being seen and the actual confidence-building tactics. Honouring our doubts as much as asking what we’re posting this week.
It’s also about balance — the divine feminine and the divine masculine. The stillness, the rest, the intuition. And the direction, the action, the follow-through. True success lives in both. The feminine creates the awareness. The masculine moves it into form. Most business education out there is so heavily masculine it overwhelms anyone operating from intuition first. I’m not interested in adding to that noise.
What’s coming
July is all about visibility — and not in the surface-level “how do I get more confident on camera” way. We’re going into the witch wound. That old, real, transgenerational fear of being ridiculed, persecuted, or punished for being exactly who we are. It still shows up. Sometimes from the people closest to us.
This is the kind of support I don’t see anywhere else for soulpreneurs, and it’s exactly what I’m here to bring.
