Happy St. Patrick's Day from Tina and Gabriel! They sit down with a basic Irish Breakfast Tea from Twinings. It is a black tea. Not too bitter. Not too exciting. It serves. They then talk about St. Patrick's Days from Tina's childhood, but that leads to talking about her family summers in Wells, Maine. A light episode with lots of laughs. Never take a nickel from Tina.
Tina and Gabriel sit down with a cup of Nonsuch Estate Black Tea. It's delicate and lightly sweet, making for a less strong tasting black tea. It's delightful. This leads Tina to talk about her experiences in Boston's combat zone while working as a go go dancer. There is also a brief derailment to talk about her time in Castle, Germany.
Tina got a coupon for Celestial Seasonings tea and got a fruit tea sampler! Gabriel has a hot Mixed Berry Zinger while she sips an iced mix of Black Cherry and Mixed Berry Zinger. They taste like low sugar Kool-Aids. Very delightful. This leads to a less structured conversation about Tina getting rid of her accent, parenting advice, and the trappings of dogmatic thinking. It's all over the board!
Tina and Gabriel sit down with a divisive cup of Night at the Iguana Chocolate Chai. Gabriel enjoys it, Tina absolutely hates it. Even now, writing this description she is giving Gabriel the rest of the tea leaves because she did not enjoy it. This leads to conversation about Tina's Broadway history, including a lot of information about different shows both pleasant and less so. During this period of time she became known as one of the best dancers on Broadway, which comes with accolades but also jealousy.
Tina and Gabriel sit down with a delightful cup of Blood Orange tea. It's a black tea full of orange. It's highly aromatic but delicate to taste. Tina then continues talking about her musical theater history, including her first Broadway show, stories about auditions (both giving and auditioning) and getting cast in a fashion show/musical theater mix. She's one of the good ones. Gabriel slowly realizes he might be one of the bad ones.
Tina and Gabriel enjoy a cup of Golden Glow, a healthy tea for the skin. With ginger, turmeric, carrots, beets and pineapple it's a fruity, spicy blend. This leads to conversation about the sports Tina participated in growing up, including skiing, skating and track. After, she shares stories about the insane asylum near her house growing up, and the ways the outpatients would hang out in the park and terrify the local children.
Gabriel and Tina sit down with a cup of Blue Lady, a black tea blend with fruity, citrusy and tropical notes. But she's not too sweet. It's an elegant and refreshing, with hints of citrusy lemon and orange, with curious tropical notes from passionfruit and hibiscus. They then have a very intimate conversation about the times in Tina's life when she's been attacked by predatory men. It's a very personal and heavy episode.
