When you think of Thanksgiving, you think of plenty, but for some of our neighbors they think of an empty table. Erica and Pastor Steve from Eastridge Church, talk about what Thanksgiving looks like for so many people this year. Eastridge Church will be providing 1,500 FREE turkey's and bags of groceries with all the Thanksgiving fixings. Their goal through the event is to demonstrate to its neighbors that Eastridge cares by providing a meal this Thanksgiving. With recent news that 1-in-4 Americans plan to skip Thanksgiving this year to save money, we are grateful that this giveaway comes at the right time to help people and families gather around the table for a holiday meal. Wishes and dreams are not something you can usually see with your eyes... you have to picture them with your heart. Five-year-old Maeve has been battling a very aggressive cancer for more than half her life and has spent more time in the hospital than at home... but this past week she got to hang out in the happiest place on earth. A wish in her heart came true for all to see! Maeve, dressed up as a cute little cowgirl, walked into Sea-Tac Airport with her family last Tuesday and into a barnyard themed party. The occasion? The remains of 99 heroes who served our country have been found and now they will finally be honored in Seattle this Monday at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home and Cemetery.
