God has called us into a deep and personal relationship with Him, not just into routines, rituals, or empty traditions. Jesus came to set us free, offering us life, grace, and intimacy with the Father. Yet, the spirit of religion seeks to bind us in legalism, pride, and works-based righteousness, hindering true spiritual growth and the movement of the Holy Spirit.
Today, we pray against the spirit of religion that blinds hearts, stifles freedom, and replaces relationship with mere routine. We ask God to break every chain of legalism, self-righteousness, and formality that keeps us from encountering Him fully. May our hearts be softened, our minds renewed, and our spirits ignited with a genuine hunger for His presence.
Let’s pray with boldness, inviting the Holy Spirit to move freely in our lives, our churches, and our communities, so that we may worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
