Catholic Counseling from FRP's Good Shepherd Institute of the Bluegrass with Dr. Richard Meyer

On today's episode, just a day after Divine Mercy Sunday, Isaac and John sit down with Dr. Richard Meyer, clinical psychologist for Good Shepherd Institute of the Bluegrass for Family Renewal Project. His responses are witty and filled with wisdom and analogies that have reached countless clients throughout his 50 year career. His conversion and the miracles of God's work in his life have borne great fruit as he has adapted Jesus' own mission statement as his own. "I have come to set the captives free." True conversion and true counseling requires opening the heart, and all the layers of encounter, understanding, openness, and trust will be healed by the Divine Mercy of Jesus.

Jesus, I trust in You.

Holy Week, Transhumanism, Time Machines, & the Resurrection of the Body

As we begin the Sacred Triduum, the guys delve into the mysteries at the center of our faith. The Resurrection of the Body is such a mystery, but it can only happen through suffering and death. Isaac kicks off this Easter Special with a powerful reflection on TIME and the power of the Paschal Mystery's ability to impact our understanding and experience of time. Heaven is real everyone, and this most important Holy Week is the central experience by which we receive deeper faith, deeper hope, and a deeper love. May God bless you all! Finding Intimacy, Forgiveness, & Mercy in a Corn Field with Fr. Ben Cameron

Today, John & Isaac interview Fr. Ben Cameron of the Fathers of Mercy in Bowling Green, KY. Fr. Cameron's experience in this incredible religious order is profound and sheds lights on God's greatest attribute: Divine Mercy. What is compassion? How do we show true patience, love, and empathy to others without comprising the truth or reality? It begins by first receiving love and mercy from God for our own sins, struggles, sufferings--so that we can experience transformation, healing, and deliverance, and this will naturally effect the lives of everyone around us. Fr. Cameron's perspective is profound and worth a listen. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam---All for the greater Glory of God.

The Prisoner Pope & Napoleon Bonaparte: Part 2 of the History of the Archdiocese of Louisville

Today, Erik Huff and John Sohl discuss the second part of the rousing history of the Archdiocese of Louisville, this time focusing on the cultural context and historical turmoil facing the universal Church during the years Pope Pius VII established the Diocese of Bardstown with Bishop Flaget. Just by knowing this history and understanding the past, we too can find freedom from the shackles that have imprisoned us in a desert of emptiness, confusion, or isolation. Pope Pius VII, who was imprisoned by none other than Napoleon Bonaparte himself, played a key role in giving us hope in the midst of a deep imprisonment and a great many strongholds that have held us captive for so many decades. Pope Pius VII, pray for us!

Dr. Peter Kreeft & the Most Destructive Belief in History

Today, Isaac Fox and the guys interview none other than Dr. Peter Kreeft, author of over 100 books and one of the most influential Catholic teachers today. His insights, wisdom, and simple advice penetrate through the complexities of our human experiences in profound ways. As he often mentions in his books, Dr. Kreeft gets bored easily, making today's episode quite the opposite. Belief in God Himself is the opening conversation, and the rest flowed as God intended.   Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam---All for the greater Glory of God.  Isaac Fox hosts this episode with his co-hosts Erik Huff & John Sohl. How did Lent develop? What was the Liturgy like years ago? & other Miscellaneous Musings

Today, Isaac & Erik discuss the origin of Lent and the ancient liturgies of yesterday. If all we think about concerning Lent is what we're giving up, we might miss out on the richer meaning behind the history of Lent. Why do we make sacrifices? Why is it 40 days? Has it always been like this? Understanding the basics of Lent is an important conversation beyond what we can begin to discuss in this short episode. Regardless, if we can enter into a more intentional time of growing in love and commitment to God--as it relates to self-denial, sacrifice, and service--we will also experience the resurrection. Easter will be here soon enough! Until then, buckle down and enter the desert.  Erik Huff hosts this episode with his co-host Isaac Fox. John Sohl was not able to join today. The Heart of Michael Schultz on the Eve of his Diaconate Ordination

Today, John sits down with his long-term friend and former youth group "kid" on the eve of his Diaconate Ordination! This is a momentous occasion in the history of the Archdiocese and most importantly for all of Michael's family and friends. Michael Schultz (now deacon as this episode airs) shares his heart on his upbringing as an adopted child from Romania and the importance of being open to the will of God and His plans for us. Young men and women discerning the priesthood or religious life should listen to this, and of course, for those of us who have known Michael, what a gift we have to spend time with him after all the blessings, graces, and intensity of the weekend's festivities!  John Sohl hosts this episode in the early hours of the morning. Erik Huff's Conversion Part 2: From the Netherlands, to Fatima, to Louisville, KY

Today, Isaac spends some more time with Erik Huff as he shares more details of his conversion story. Last time they discussed his time in college as an atheist that involved a series of remarkable and miraculous events. Erik's story is one filled with grace and hope, despite the darkness or confusion from his past. Identity, Purpose, & Lifestyle: Theology of the Body & the Book of Genesis

Today, Isaac & John continue their conversation about "What is Man?" through the lens of Theology of the Body. Starting with Genesis and the Garden of Eden is the perfect place to begin this journey and story, but it's not just about religious or theological concepts. This is about who we are, where we come from, and where we are heading. How do men and women relate to each other? How can we under sexuality, gender, marriage, and family life? How can we truly be happy and live out the perfect plan for total fulfillment? Theology of the Body truly is a theological Niagara Falls because it requires us to study the deepest meaning of our identity, our purpose, and our lifestyle when it comes to being fully alive and fully human. Buckle up for another deep conversation!  Isaac Fox hosts this episode with his co-host John Sohl. Erik Huff was not able to join today.
