  • The Lies Wrecking Your Relationships | Brad Straarup

Dating, marriage, sex, heartbreak, singleness — every season of relationships comes with the same question: why does this have to be so complicated?

Here's the truth: sin and the world complicate what God designed to be clear. Your relationships were never meant to be this hard.

In the first message of our brand-new series, It's Complicated, Brad kicks off our Love, Sex & Marriage series by going back to the beginning — to God's original design for relationships in Genesis. Before the sin. Before the mess. There was an order, an intent, and a plan.

Brad exposes the lies the enemy has been whispering since the Garden:

To married people… "You married the wrong person." "It shouldn't be this hard."

To singles… "You're behind." "The right person will complete me."

About sex… "It's just physical." "God is holding out on you."

He answers each one with the truth of God's Word.

Because God isn't afraid to get His hands dirty. No matter what you've done or how messy it's been, He can breathe life into your relationships too.

Stop looking for the right one. Start becoming the right one.

  • Only God Knows (Girls Night) | Paige Straarup

What if the people who know the most about you don't actually know you at all?

You can be seen by every single person in the room and still not be known by one of them. A lot of us have gotten really good at being known ABOUT — the highlight reel, the put-together Sunday version — while nobody actually knows what we're carrying this week.

In this message from our very first Girls Night — a special night set apart from our normal weekend series, just for the women of our church and our city — Paige opens up Genesis 16 and the story of Hagar: a runaway, a slave, a pregnant woman nobody was looking for. Alone in the desert and sure no one saw her, she becomes the only person in the whole Bible to give God a name — El Roi, "the God who sees me."

But there are two women hiding in this chapter. Hagar is empty and alone in the wilderness. Sarai is empty surrounded by everything she ever wanted — the husband, the wealth, the promise of God — and still lying awake with an ache she'd feel guilty naming out loud. One ran to the desert where nobody could find her. One buried herself in a full, busy, blessed life where nobody could reach her. And El Roi sees them both.

Three things Hagar's story shows us:
    - You are already seen — not when you get it together, but right now, in the hiding.
    - God sees you… now let Him in — coming out of hiding with God is the safe one. He already saw, and He already stayed.
    - There's a healing waiting on the other side of being known — first with God, and then with the people He's placed right next to you (James 5:16).

If "I'm fine" became the only answer you know how to give — if you're the strong friend, the one everyone calls, the one who holds it all together — this one is for you. It's okay to not be okay. It's just not okay to stay there.

Known by everybody. Known by nobody. Today can be the day that changes.

  • The Filling of the Holy Spirit | Brad Straarup

What do you do when you know your own strength is no longer enough?

Maybe your walk with God feels dry. Your marriage feels dry. You keep trying to overcome the same habits, thoughts, and struggles, but nothing seems to change.

In the final message of our Holy Spirit series, Brad teaches what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit and why we cannot live the life God has called us to live through willpower alone.

The Holy Spirit is not something we achieve. He is someone we receive. Every believer receives the Spirit at salvation, but Scripture also calls us to be continually filled, fully surrendered, and empowered for the assignment God has given us.

This message explores the indwelling, baptism, and filling of the Holy Spirit, along with a biblical and grace-filled look at praying in tongues. It is not a spiritual status symbol or a requirement to prove you have the Spirit. It is a gift from a good Father that strengthens us as we pray.

God has already made His power available. The question is whether we will keep trying to live by our own might, or surrender every part of our lives to His Spirit.

Not by might. Not by power. But by His Spirit.

  • The Presence of the Holy Spirit | Brad Straarup

You can leave a church service knowing more about the Holy Spirit than you've ever known in your life… and not be one inch closer to Him.

For three weeks we talked about the Holy Spirit—who He is, what He does, what He gives. This message is different. It's about being with Him.

Many Christians love God, love Jesus, and are on their way to heaven, but have never truly experienced the Holy Spirit. Often that's not a Bible problem—it's that our view of Him is built on one strange experience we had, or one we saw on TV. So He gets a bad rap, and we keep our distance.

In this message from our Holy Spirit series, Brad goes back to the actual words Scripture uses—Rûwach in Hebrew, Pneuma in Greek—and both carry the same picture: wind, breath, a blast of air. From the second verse of the Bible, the Spirit of God is the breath of God hovering over the waters.

Using four things we already understand about wind, Brad shows how to relate to the person of the Holy Spirit:

🌬️ Wind is UNSEEN — you may not see Him, but you can feel Him.
🌬️ Wind is UNPREDICTABLE — He won't be tucked into our systems; worship Him, not the method.
🌬️ Wind is POWERFUL — He brings power for the things human strength can't fix.
🌬️ Wind is REFRESHING — He wants to breathe fresh air back into your marriage, your job, and your walk with God.

If your faith feels stale—everything's "fine," but nothing feels alive—this is an invitation to take a deep breath and receive Him. Let go of your fears and misperceptions, go all in, and develop a real friendship with the Holy Spirit. God the Father loves you. God the Son saves you. God the Spirit is with you.

Some of you are a sail with no wind. He's ready to fill it.

  • The Gifts of the Holy Spirit | Brad Straarup

What gifts has the Holy Spirit placed in your life that are still unopened?

Every believer has been given spiritual gifts, but many Christians remain uninformed, uncertain, or even afraid of what those gifts are and how they should be used.

In Week 3 of our Holy Spirit series, Brad unpacks what the Bible teaches about the gifts of the Spirit, including prophecy, healing, faith, miracles, words of wisdom and knowledge, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues.

These gifts are not natural talents, rewards for spiritual maturity, or abilities reserved for an elite few. They are grace-given abilities through which the Holy Spirit works for the good of others.

You don’t own the gifts. You have the Holy Spirit, and He chooses to work through you to strengthen, encourage, heal, and serve the people around you.

God has placed something in your hands that may be the answer to someone else’s prayer. The question is: Will you discover it, develop it, and use it?

  • The Power of the Holy Spirit | Brad Straarup

Most Christians don't have an information problem. They have a power problem.

Most of us know what we should do. We know we should forgive, resist temptation, break unhealthy habits, and trust God. The problem isn't a lack of knowledge. The problem is a lack of power.

In Week 2 of our Holy Spirit series, Brad explores one of the most significant moments in Scripture: Pentecost. Discover why the Holy Spirit wasn't sent merely to give us an emotional experience, but to empower us to live differently, boldly share our faith, overcome sin, and hear God's voice in our everyday lives.

If you've ever wondered what happened at Pentecost, whether the Holy Spirit still speaks today, or how to recognize His leading, this message will help you see that God didn't just give us instructions to follow—He gave us His Spirit to transform us from the inside out.

The Holy Spirit didn't come to fill rooms. He came to fill people.

  • Who is the Holy Spirit? | Brad Straarup

What if you've been missing one-third of your relationship with God?

Many people know God the Father. Many people know Jesus. But for countless Christians, the Holy Spirit remains a mystery.

In the first message of our Holy Spirit series, Brad explores one of the biggest questions believers ask: Who is the Holy Spirit? You'll discover why Jesus said it was actually better for Him to leave so the Holy Spirit could come, why the Holy Spirit isn't an impersonal force but a divine person, and how He wants to lead, empower, and transform your everyday life.

If you've ever had questions about the Holy Spirit, struggled to understand His role, or wondered if there's more to your walk with God than you've experienced, this message is for you.

The Holy Spirit isn't someone to simply learn about. He's someone to know.

  • Guarding the Gospel | Ryan Straarup

How has the Church protected the true Gospel for nearly 2,000 years?

In the final message of Cults & Counterfeits, guest speaker Ryan Straarup explores how the early Church defended biblical truth against false teaching and why historic Christian creeds still matter today.

Long before there were denominations, podcasts, or social media debates, followers of Jesus were already wrestling with one question: Who is Jesus, really? As false teachings spread through the early Church, faithful believers gathered around God's Word to defend the Gospel that had been entrusted to them.

In this message, you'll discover why the Apostles' Creed and Nicene Creed weren't written to add to Scripture, but to faithfully protect what Scripture already teaches. You'll see how the earliest Christians responded to heresy, why every generation must contend for the truth, and why the Church's greatest message has never been advice about what you must do, but good news about what Jesus has already done.

The Gospel isn't another self-help plan or religious checklist.

Christ has risen. It is finished.

  • A Different Authority | Brad Straarup

What if the most dangerous lie isn’t the opposite of the truth, but something that sounds almost true?

In this message from Cults & Counterfeits, Brad teaches on how every counterfeit gospel begins by attacking the same place: the authority of God’s Word.

From the garden in Genesis 3 to today, the enemy’s strategy has not changed. He twists Scripture, subtracts from Scripture, and adds to Scripture. And if we are not grounded in the Bible, we can easily begin shaping God’s Word around culture, feelings, comfort, or personal desire.

This message is a call to trust the Bible, learn the Bible, and share the Bible.

Because a partial truth can destroy your life, but the whole truth can transform your life.

  • A Different Salvation | Brad Straarup

What if the counterfeit isn’t denying Jesus, but changing how we are made right with God?

In Week 3 of Cults & Counterfeits, Brad teaches on Catholicism and the difference between a Gospel that says “It is finished” and a system that says “keep paying.”

While Catholics affirm many core truths about Jesus, the major difference comes down to authority and salvation. Is Scripture our final authority? And are we justified by faith in Christ alone, or by faith plus works, sacraments, and ongoing merit?

In this message, we look at the difference between imputed righteousness and infused righteousness, why assurance of salvation matters, and why the finished work of Jesus is truly good news.

The Gospel is not a treadmill.
     It is not a ladder.
It is not “Jesus started it, now you finish it.”

    Jesus said, “It is finished.”

    📖 Scriptures referenced:
     1 Timothy 4:1 • Galatians 1:6–7 • 1 Peter 3:15 • Matthew 16:18–19 • Ephesians 2:20 • Matthew 18:18 • Galatians 2:16 • 2 Timothy 3:16–17 • 2 Corinthians 5:21 • Romans 10:9 • 1 John 5:13 • John 19:30 • Romans 8:1 • Galatians 3:11–12 • Galatians 5:1–4 • James 2:17–18 • Ephesians 2:8–10 • Romans 1:17 • Luke 23:43 • Romans 4:5

    🙌 Next Step:
     Ask yourself honestly:
“Am I resting in the finished work of Jesus, or am I still trying to prove I’ve done enough?”

Nothing to add. Nothing to earn. Nothing to fear.
In Christ, there is now no condemnation.
