Freedom is on the agenda. We all want to be free. But what is it....or....who is it that brings freedom and what does it look like?

APOSTLE'S CREED
Third Part
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
*or: Christian; 'catholic' here means 'universal'
What this means for us
I believe that on my own I can never come to Jesus Christ my Lord, or believe in him, no matter how hard I try. But the Holy Spirit has called me to Jesus, made me holy, and kept me in the Christian faith.
In the same way the Holy Spirit creates the Christian church all over the world.
The Spirit calls people to Jesus, brings them together into the church, leads them to know and trust Jesus, makes them holy, and keeps them with Jesus in the Christian faith.
In the Christian church the Spirit keeps on forgiving all my sins and the sins of everyone who believes in Jesus.
At the end of time the Spirit will raise me to life, together with all who have died, and will give me and all others who believe in Christ eternal life.
This is certainly true.

No need to grow weary of living the Faith. We do have our crowd support!

Second Part
And (I believe) in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.
What this means for us
I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord, he is truly God - he has always been the Son of the Father. He is also a real human being, the Virgin Mary's son.
Jesus rescued me when I was lost and sentenced to death. He set me free from all my sins, from death, and from the power of the devil. It cost him more than gold or silver; it cost him his life. Even though he was holy and innocent, he suffered and died for me.
Jesus did this so that I can belong to him, and he can rule over me as my king. I can live under him and serve him innocent and happy forever. Just s e was raised to life, and lives and rules forever.
This is certainly true.

First Part
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
What this means for us
I believe that God has created me and everything that exists. God has given me my body and soul, my mind and senses, and all my abilities, and still takes care of them.
God also gives me everything I need from day to day - things life food, clothes, home and family, work and money.
God protects me from danger and keeps me safe when I am in trouble.
God does all this only because he is my kind and loving Father: I certainly do not deserve it. All I can do is

Tenth Commandment
Do not want anyone else's husband or wife, servants, animals, or possessions.
What this means for us
We should honour and love God, and so we should not try to take away from other people their marriage partner, or anyone who is close to them. Instead, we should encourage people to be faithful and loyal.

What God says about all these commandments
God says:
I am the Lord your God, and I demand all your love. If you reject me, I will punish your families for three or four generations. But if you love me and obey my laws, I will be kind to your families for thousands of generations. (Exodus 20:5,6 CEV)
What this means for us
God threatens to punish everyone who disobeys the commandments. So we should be afraid of God's anger and not go against what he says. But God promises to be kind and merciful to everyone who obeys the commandments. So we should love and trust God and be happy to do what he says.

If there will in the end be nothing standing of our own, then it seems wise to stand with the only thing that will be standing - The Living Word - Jesus.
