Evangelism isn't new. As the church grew, after the death and resurrection of Jesus, under the care of His chosen Apostles they branched out in order to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. This was not to rebel, as the members of the church received the gospel and were moved by the Spirit they followed the instructions in Matthew 28: 18 - 20. Believe in Jesus Christ, confess his name, and obey the word of Jesus Christ in order to become a disciple. As this probationary time marches toward its completion, that mission has not changed. So in every generation, we Christians speak about the good news inviting anyone who is willing to learn about salvation from God offered to us in Jesus Christ. We offer you the truth, that answers to the questions in your mind are found in the word of God (Bible), and repentance for your sins and freedom from them is found in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. On this episode of Reflections we will discuss Jesus and why we evangelize his name to you.
What do you really understand about prayer? When is it appropriate to pray? What goes into a prayer? I often hear pastors and religious folk asking if people pray like we expect to hear anyone say no (I've asked friends who complained to me about prayer). As important as prayer is between the human and the divine, prayer time is not just a time for spouting empty words. When we pray it is also a time to reflect on our lives and our words and the object of our prayer. Join me as I discuss this important topic of the Christian life to learn more.
As the rush of the Christmas season begins, I want to tell you a story. God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, so that whoever should believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life. That story is from the book of John 3 verse 16, and it's okay if you don't know what it means. That is why God gave us a full testimony in simple terms we could understand if we are willing to open the book and explore the testimony of God with a believing heart. And if you believe His testimony and say through your own lips that Jesus Christ is Lord and savior, you will be welcomed into salvation. But you have to believe. Part of God's offer of salvation to mankind is the forgiveness of our sins, which we all have committed against Him. In coming to Jesus, self dies and a new reliance on Jesus begins. And from this we begin to experience forgiveness in ways we never could on our own. The sad part of this offer is that some will choose to pay the cost of sin themselves by refusing God's free gift of Salvation in Jesus Christ. I hope you will take a dive with me into the topic of forgiveness.
To conquer, we first have to have an understanding of the enemy we're facing. No general goes into battle without intelligence and no soldier is sent into the field without being briefed. For us, the ones who seek a relationship with God, we have the law and the prophets as a testimony of everything God has said and done. The gospel has so much detail in simple terms, though hidden from those who don't want to know and those who turn from Jesus to chase fantasies. In this episode of Spiritseid Reflections, we will talk a little about the Bible, God's commands, and the good we get from following the commands of the Lord.
What has been your experience with Anxeity? Anxiety and depression are two of the worst foes we face in life. Many of us, if not all, can say we've had our moments. My gray hairs can testify for me about my rounds with anxiety, specifically and social-anxiety. I battled for years by working in the public and having to interact with people. For me, the moment of breaking came from studying the word of God and turning to Jesus Christ (Yeshuah Messiah). He made all the difference and knowing it was not easy, let me share some common practices from faith that transformed my anxiety to confident praise. There's a lot of talk about what it takes to be a good Christian. All it takes is believing in Jesus Christ. When we understand that Zechariah 4:6 "not by might or by power but by my Spirit' or Deuteronomy 28:9, the Lord Himself will establish you", then you understand that it is Jesus who makes us good by the work he does in our hearts. Our work is to believe in Jesus and to trust in Him, because it is His righteousness that will be in us and that frees us to make use of the free grace of God and the power Jesus bestows on us as we live in the holiness he gives us. Nothing we do will make us holy except to submit to Jesus and allow him to do the work. When we understand how much God has done for us in Christ we know how much God loves, so we can praise and continue to praise the Lord. To visit Spiritseid on the web click here
We worship God because He's worth worshiping. I learned this when I found Jesus Christ and He took all my sins, my anxieties and set me free. If you have or haven't heard who Jesus Christ is, take a load off and let your ears explore God with me. I am not a preacher, but spreading the word for anyone willing to listen. The grace of God is free and given for everyone. Learning more will only costs you time, if you're willing.
Sharing one of the more practical ways to deal with stress and find relief. While I know stress isn't easy to deal with and each situation is different, there is hope in Jesus Christ. If you have never heard the name, or if you have never believed, getting relief from your stresses may be worth the listen. If you do drop in leave a voice note or get in touch over at the website if you want more information. I love people who share me too.
