Your objective is to move from spiritual self-esteem to spiritual autonomy and eventually to spiritual maturity—where you glorify God to the maximum. Remember the key to spiritual autonomy is knowledge and application of God’s Word. “I have hidden Your Word in my heart so I would not sin against You” (Ps 119:11). In spiritual autonomy, you have contentment which is sharing the happiness of God. When you are content then God can bless you more and it won’t distract you from growing in grace and knowledge. My cup overflows. Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life” (Ps 23:5-6). You’ve got to have insight and understanding from God’s Word so you don’t focus on your light afflictions now but rather focus on eternal things. Redeem your time wisely and God will give you more time to glorify Him. God has given you ministering angels to watch over you and protect you. In essence, you have a heavenly secret service detail! “He will give His angels charge concerning you to guard you in all of your ways” (Ps 91:11). Divine protection and provisions are given to those who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, those who revere and respect Him. “You are of God and have overcome them because the One that is in you is greater than the one that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
