Dr. Isabelle Goulet is both a cellular and molecular biologist specializing in epigenetics and a healing facilitator trained in shamanic practices. In 2014, she founded Scientive to bridge two worlds: the physical and the non-physical, science and spirituality. Medical Anthropologist Dr. Natalie Tobert is an itinerant scholar who teaches in medical schools, hospitals, and universities. Her course modules support integrated health and explore multiple narratives and plural ways of understanding consciousness. As Education Director of Aethos Training, Natalie designed 8 - 10 weekly courses covering “Cultural Diversity, Mental Wellbeing, and Spirituality”. She developed a Training Manual on Cultural Equalities for Frontline Health Service Providers, and has facilitated workshop seminars in UK, Ireland, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and USA (CIIS - California Institute of Integral Studies).  Dr Tobert conducted three ethnographic fieldwork projects: one in Sudan for her doctorate, and two in India. She also undertook research on the relationship between mystical, spiritual, and religious experiences and mental health (Alister Hardy Archive).

Lorne Schussel, MS, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist, Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Director of the Contemplative Science and Post Materialism Lab at Columbia University, Teachers College. He is visiting faculty at the Spirituality Mind Body Institute and formerly Project Director of the Contemplative Neuroscience and Connectivity Project. His research focuses on the utilization of novel mind-body practices, human connectivity, contemplative neuroscience, and integrating clinical biomarkers (epigenetic, HR, EEG) into clinical research. Dr. Schussel developed a psychological healing practice known as “The Best Self Visualization Method” which has been cited in the New York Times, ABC-online, and the Huffington Post. Lorne has recently taught the technique to appointed state judges as visiting faculty at the California State Judicial College for a course on mental health and employee burnout.

Jennifer “Kim” Penberthy, PhD, ABPP is the Chester F. Carlson Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences, Division of Perceptual Studies, and the Associate Director for Clinician Wellness at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Kim is a board-certified clinical psychologist and conducts research, teaches, and provides clinical care. Her research interests focus on the mind-body relationship and exploring human consciousness as well as extraordinary human experiences and the impact of such on human abilities and wellness. Recent work includes exploring the occurrence and impact of after death communications. She is also dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion and exploring contemplative practices across cultures and marginalized groups. Laurel Waterman, currently a doctoral student in Curriculum and Pedagogy at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, has been teaching creative non-fiction writing at the University of Toronto since 2009. She published About Local Food: four conversations with Toronto food activists, a book based on her MA research in Adult Education and Community Development. Waterman has been a writer, researcher, and editor for several books, essays, research projects, and conference presentations throughout her academic career, mostly in the areas of non-fiction writing, education, food systems, and environmental sustainability. In 2021, she was awarded a grant from the Ontario Graduate Scholarship fund for her doctoral research in consciousness studies education. She is a student member of the Academy for the Advancement of Post-materialist Sciences (AAPS), and co-moderator of their Facebook page.
