As I head into a 5 day silence retreat, I share some of the thoughts that I have been contemplating on and will continue to do so during the retreat. I've learned that it's only through silence and meditation that we can find the answers that we've been looking for. So often we're taught to find the answers - and find ourselves - externally, but all that we need to know, we already have within us. We just have to take time to listen. I also share my fears about stepping into the unknown and that even though we're on this spiritual journey, we can still have very human experiences - and that's ok. And sometimes we need to just show up for ourselves, and others, and allow those feelings to come up without any spiritual bypassing. In this week's episode, I dive a little deeper into my transformative time at the ashram in Rishikesh. I share a little about my initial trip to India and how all the universe conspired to help me get there, and how impactful that trip ended up being in my life. So much so that I returned a year later and received an initiation into the ashram, joining the long lineage of Himalayan yoga tradition. I also shared how the ashram or any meditation center can become the ideal place for whole being happiness, based on learnings from the SPIRE model, that I learned during my Master's degree in Happiness Studies. To kick off this channel, I'm sharing my own spiritual journey. From the divorce that left me broken open, to the "toxic" relationship with a Scorpio that helped me to see my shadows and threw me into a depression, and how meditation helped me to find peace from all of the broken pieces. I also shared how this spiritual journey is a constant evolution and how a year of losses/purification helped me to find my way to an ashram in India, and come back to myself - which is where we've always been.
