Arjuna first submits to Shri Krishna as His disciple and thereafter Arjuna surrenders to Krishna and requests the Lord to instruct him, and then Krishna begins countering Arjuna's objections. Krishna begins His teachings to Arjuna by explaining the fundamental distinction between the temporary material body and the eternal spiritual soul.
Thus , the second chapter, greatly emphasizes the importance of each one of us understanding the nature of our soul, performing all our actions with a total sense of surrender and above all practicing equanimity at all times in the midst of chaos , confusion and cacophony for Yoga, a state of balanced mind is a way of life itself. Krishna has clearly communicated only that soul would be redeemed which does its duty in its entirety without shying away from its responsibilities and challenges that life has to offer.
