"Jonah built a shelter for himself, and sat where he could see the hellfire and brimstone that he just knew was going to happen on Nineveh. Despite all that, God did something very nice for Jonah. He created a bush. That's the thing right there that I want us to catch. We we see the Jonah and the big fish, we see the big storm... we see God in all these things but but God appeared in a small Bush to provide shelter over Jonah's head. If we don't finish the story, and if we don't look for God in a small, we miss the whole point of the story."

Scripture tells us that there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces, but YHWH was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but YHWH was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but YHWH was not in the fire; and after the fire a “sound of sheer silence.” When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then there came a voice to him that said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
